DeSantis wants to make it harder for undocumented immigrants to work and go to college in Florida

We don't enforce laws on employers that are felonies, what makes you think we would enforce them on the employee's?

Besides, we would never fund all the prisons this would take.

So a non workable solution is not a solution at all.

One issue is that you may not understand the "laws"

In a sanctuary city (State) if an illegal alien applies for work. you run their social security number, like everyone else - if it comes back bogus you are required to simply put that notification in their employment file.

You are not allowed to proceed any farther or deny them employment due to their immigration status.

Again, no way you are paying for all these prisons nor the costs associated with them so stop pretending you will.

If you were unable to lie, you would be unable to post.

What is with you leftists and your completely inept comprehension skills? Is this the result of public education? Seems it is. So one more time:

That's the point, imprisoning illegals would make them stop coming here. I don't care how crappy your last country was, anything is better than spending 5 years in a prison cell. It defeats the purpose of coming here in the first place.

You want to stop undocumented migration dead in it's tracks, prosecute the employers.

The entire immigration issue will be resolved within a year. Guaranteed!

I would go after employers who knowingly hire illegals. I'd throw them in jail, and fine them heavily.

The problem is "knowingly" hired them. That has to be established to bring charges.

Even if the feds sent an agent to a business telling the employer he's an illegal and looking for a job, I seriously doubt any employer would hire them for that reason. They may present a fake SS number or papers or something like that so the employer could cover his ass, so it's near impossible to prove intent.

While I believe employers of illegals should be hanged in public…it is not the duty of business owners to enforce our immigration laws….Almost Dead Joe and Mexicrats are to blame for this shit-show.

Employers shouldn't be required to enforce immigration laws. However, employers are responsible for enforcing employment laws.

However (the 2nd), if we require employers to enforce employment laws, we HAVE to give them the tools to verify that the individual they are hiring is eligible to work in this country. Currently the I-9 isn't doing it.

There is no such thing as a "Sanctuary city". Cities do not enforce immigration laws, the federal government does and they wont.

I thought they were asylum seekers running for their lives, not economic opportunists.

Correct, but sanctuary cities offer aid and comfort to illegals making it more inviting for them to come here.

They alert them when ICE plans on conducting workplace raids, allow them to rent or buy homes, give them drivers licenses so they can get to those jobs they are not supposed to have, have policies that restrict police from contacting ICE when they have a criminal illegal alien in their custody, allow them to vote in local elections.........

You bitch about employers but give a pass to all these leftist politicians that accommodate illegals as if they were valued visitors.

The problem with that is illegals can still sue employers for not hiring them even though they are not eligible to work here under our discrimination laws. That has to be addressed by Congress first.

Sort of like, if you want to stop shoplifting, prosecute employers.
It's not the employers job to crime.
If you prosecute them for criminals being criminals, then you are just going to drive employers out of the state, or the country.

Hahaha…NOBODY sane is buying your bullshit Humberto from Tijuana….
Wetbacks>Illegal Aliens>Illegals>Undocumented Immigrants>Immigrants>Dreamers>Migrants>Asylum Seekers>Refugees
They are ALL still just dirty fucking wetbacks

Unkotare
when you use insulting racially-charged terms like Wetbacks, you give cred to the libs who are always saying Rs are racist..

:(

That does not mean that employers should illegally hire people!

surely you are not saying it is OK for employers to hire illegals but illegals should be the only ones prosecuted?

??

This is what every state should do. We need to take away the incentives that illegals have to come here!

  • DeSantis is accelerating his clamp down against undocumented immigrants in Florida.
  • Last year DeSantis orchestrated flights carrying migrants from San Antonio to Martha's Vineyard.
  • The actions come as DeSantis is widely expected to be pursuing a presidential run.

Not harder. Impossible. It needs to be impossible for illegals to get any welfare, healthcare, education, housing, jobs etc.

Fucking NOTHING!

If your roof was leaking, and you hired a guy to fix the leak in your roof.... should we grab your dumb butt, and through you in prison, if we find out he was illegal?

what? employers can't do a background check to find out if the person is legal?

last i heard, just about anyone can do a background check on just about anyone.. it's called LACK of privacy.. it's called Life in 2023. but somehow there is no tech for checking out the legal status of job applicants?

please
