Last time Trump did nothing about board appointments either except trying to appoint a Democrat hack that was already a bad choice....got shot down in flames....but that was his last effort.

Farm Credit is a private bank…it’s not part of the USDA

It's various private banks....and governed by a board. It's the board that's missing because it only has ONE over term member left.

No....I can get a Farm Credit Loan at a local bank. They Farm Credit Bureau just approves the loan or calls it due early when I'm out of contracts...because they closed the local processing plant.

Farm Credit is a nationwide customer-owned cooperative

You can get a loan from any bank sure, but you can only get a Farm Credit loan from Farm Credit.

These problems have gone on for THREE Presidents. Obama, Trump, and Biden. Nobody has done anything.

ps.....I farm so am always keenly interested in USDA 'reform' discussions. l have decades- long relationships....financial, operationally, advisory.....with the USDA, their programs and numerous staffers over the years.

The president doesn’t appoint people to the Farm Credit board.

Both chambers of congress have oversight powers and both have conducted oversight of the USDA over the past 16 years

Small farms ONLY work when there is a food processing plant issuing contracts.

However, companies like Dole, Heinz, and Tyson also get huge Farm Credit loans for processing plants (they qualify too).

And Farm Credit has been telling them exactly where they want the processing centers, which ones to close, and ultimately which small farmers to bankrupt.
