Department of Agriculture

Believe it or not...
This department is in crap shape due to McConnell and Thune directly.
Not the Democrats this time.

The USDA is the governing body over America's agriculture and the chief financiers of all the groceries and farmed products in America...except forest products like lumber. But definitely things like cotton.
Definitely needing an overhaul. Because this department has been loaning money to Verizon Wireless while destroying small farmers in contrast to helping Corporate conglomerate Farms.

Farm Credit is legally supposed to have a board that oversees the loan programs for every farm. (Non-standard low interest Loan programs subsidized by tax dollars) The board members all are appointed to 6 year terms. And each is not allowed to serve more than twice. (Term limits)
Currently there is only one board member (unappointed) who is 6 years past his term limit. But is a McConnell stooge.

USDA inspections of our food processing plants has grown EXTREMELY LAX. Which in turn causes recalls of various food products from contamination of various bacteria and chemicals not allowed in already rather lax standards.

The USA has been a stalwart in food sanitation known globally. Every country in the world recognizes the USA's processed food as the gold standard in food production. They often ship their agricultural products to the USA to be processed and then shipped back home for consumption.

Time to clean the thing up!
The annoying orange has chosen a power attorney think tanker to run Agriculture. No indication she has the first notion of how to grow a tomato. A policy mavin, Brooke Rollins.

Let's see if she actually stays in place....she might not. Massey is the one of choice. Dunno why he wasn't picked.

"A better question is why are you challenging how I would know? A civil discussion would start with you leaving out your incredulous remarks. Your question is what? How would I know anything about the food I buy?"

Ah, poster elektra, responsible adult discussion requires the individual who makes an assertion to be able to explain the statement made. To date you have not. What you know about your morning oatmeal doesn't really qualify you for an informed opinion on agriculture or the function, reach, or impact of an agency that oversee the nation's agriculture with 100,000 staffers and 4,500 locations.

My suspicion is that you have an opinion unmoored in knowledge of farming, food production on the necessary mega scale to feed nearly 350,000,000 citizens daily, or the US Department of Agriculture.

But, having said that, I am always willing to learn, Accordingly, now would be a great opportunity for you to demonstrate to the forum your curriculum vitae and your bona fides about American agriculture.

"If the farmer didn't use the seed monsanto was selling...it was the DOA destroying that farmer within minutes!"
Poster Thunk, your assertion is non-factual.
In my opinion it is nonsense.
Explain yourself, please.

"Seize ALL farmlands held by Bill Gates or the CCP and auction it off to local farmers"
How much would that be, Frank, relative to all farm acreage?
What specific impact would it have?
In what locales?
How do you know?

No, you are not here to learn. Your position is solid. To denigrate anyone you consider MAGA.

Your challenge to me, in your arrogance, completely ignored my comment, the one simple point I made in which you used to launch into a tirade that is unrelated to my comment.

Chill, you have not refuted what I stated nor offered your claimed superior knowledge adding to this discussion.

Chill, I have lived and worked on farms. I was surrounded by farms in Macomb County Michigan. Certainly I gained knowledge living and working on farms.

I have also spent decades buying food. Watching prices trends etc..

I pay attention to the news, back when that was a newspaper. I was informed by great conservative minds and researched that which was related.

I am more than qualified to make the statement that I did, that you failed to respond to.

Chill, now is your chance to respond to my original comment, offer your claimed insight, and show why my oroliginal comment is wrong.

Go ahead, chill, show us all your knowledge, quote my comment, comment on my comment, come on down off your high horse.

Prove yourself, your game of denigration is why democrats lost. America wants answers.

Watch everyone, chill will not address what I stated. Chill can only attack a person, chill can't tackle an idea using intelligence

Democrats are full of bluster. If they were shoes, they would not have shoe laces or soles.

Chillicothe is a typical idiot democrat. Arrogant and easily butthurt which results in never hearing what is said just a moronic attack distracting from an and all conversations.

There is no discussion with democrats. Democrats are here just to insult denigrate and discredit. Democrats are also quick to reply with such vulgarity most people find classless and distasteful thus causing most people to never stay on usmb and read the threads

When I was a Democrat, until 1980, I simply took just the word of Democrats. It caused me to be a pain in the ass of Republicans. A lot of study and willing to learn converted me.

And the Republicans aren't much better of late.
It started roughly with Bob Dole and went downhill from there. (In bed with phameceuticals)

The whole mess is that it's getting more difficult to know who is doing what anymore. Especially since they are all guilty of insider trading on the stock market. ALL are beating the S&P 500....where not one mutual fund out there beats the S&P as consistently as Congress.

Then with the secret votes and the voting on the schedules....we don't have a clue what they do in most of these committees. We really don't know what they are doing when they do it. They tell the constituents one thing but are heavily involved in a third they want nobody to know about. And if you make a stink because you find out? The "Alphabet agencies" come after you and nobody but a billionaire can afford those legal fees.

When Bob Dole was a big star in Congress, to be honest, I was not seriously interested in politicians nor politics. My awakening happened in time for me to vote for Ronald Reagan. A vote I still cherish to this very day. I suggest you start watching Cspan since they give live sessions that can help a bit.

What gets said on C-Span is for the dog and pony show. It's not necessarily the position they truly hold. There's been more than one instance where the Congressman makes a public speech but behind the scenes has done everything possible to defeat what he publicly advocates for.

Just saying....the corruption runs DEEP.

A very good experience for me was when I was a director (out of 16 then) of a Real Estate board and we got involved with politics. We would go to Sacramento annually to have meetings with congress critters. I also was a director of the CA Association of Realtors and there we were deeper into politics. 4 meetings lasting 4 days each per year taught me a lot about committees and so did the local board which is a giant board in Ca. I surveyed my local board of directors and about 40 percent of us really worked for the members and about 60 percent did not give a damn about members and were there for their personal agendas.

The woman who has long been the CEO of the board was hired with the approval of me and the committee on finance and also me as a board of director at that time.

Tricia Thomas is the CEO and she has been holding that job for over 35 years. We had to approve her for the then CEO who is long gone.

She is the blond on the far left in this web site.

A claim made in post #2 by poster elektra:
"Another Democrat mess MAGA must fix"

And that poster was queried about that claim, to explain his assertion.
After several postings later......the poster has failed to define or explain his/her (?) claim.

With no desire to be pejorative we could suggest that the poster is unwilling to offer an explanation, or......is simply unable. Knowing that one's Big Mac has meat and pickles in it does...NOT......make one an authoritative source on American agriculture.

But we are not here to judge.

you are filthy liar, chill, you are you to judge and denigrate, as well as distract.

why else when quoting my post you edit my post so that half is gone, it is simple, you only wish to fight, never having a discussion

This is exactly why the democrats lost. 100% unwilling to admit anything in the government is less than perfect and needs fixing.

Chill, you contradictions and rants mean nothing.

The USDA is getting over hauled.

How many of them are you?
