Some one PLEASE alert the mods.
I have received a very credible suicide threat from a
DUer-
I live in the Los Angeles area and the call
came from Dallas. (cell phone)
I have contacted the Dallas police but all
they have to go on is a cell phone number, which is
all I have too.
I am hoping DU can provide the police with an address
from their database.
Time is of the essence.
PLEASE someone help!
The call came from Anarchy1999- she is in a VERY bad
way-
she called me two nights ago and I am EXTREMELY
worried-
If you have ANY information that can help the
Dallas Police find her- PLEASE call them IMMEDIATELY.

This person is NOT well and should be hospitalized.
IF, God forbid, she has taken pills or something-

Yes. And from that experience I know much of what affects your life is how you program your own mind. Suicide is the natural outcome of lefty thinking. "All cultures are equal, but western culture is worse; all races are valuable, but there are too many white people." Lemmings I tell you. Self hatred isn't cool.

Are there any mental health professionals on this board? I really doubt that "lefty thinking" is the cause of most suicide and depression. That's pretty far fetched. How about Hitler, right wing and committed suicide. You're reaching here Avngr.

I've known a lot of depressed people and I would rank religious confusion, sex and relationships, drugs and alcohol, and health problems higher as contributing factors than political stripe. I know several seriously apolitical people who are nevertheless depressed.

I agree with you that it's important to deal with it in a strong way and not succomb to self-doubt or self-hatred. But really people know that politics are malleable. They are more likely to become depressed if they are doing something they consider or they've been conditioned to think is a "sin", than something liberal or conservative. Usually depression has roots in early childhood, when we were all apolitical.

I've got a buddy who literally listens to right wing propaganda on the radio all day long. Limbaugh, Coulter etc. He gets wound up by the constant haranguing, then he gets depressed and yells at his wife and kids. His wife wishes he'd stop listening to that anger provoking crap.
