If you are saying that’s wrong then you are changing your story. Either they have to uphold the law when someone comes to them with a crime or they don’t.

If a person comes to the police and says “hey I have evidence someone burned down my house” and the police can say “tough luck”, then the same thing can be said about if someone goes to the police and says “I have evidence that someone assaulted me”, they can say the same thing.

You can’t have it two ways.

It doesn't matter what you refuse to believe, the reality is, the Govt doesn't owe you anything, they have no duty to you. They don't have to investigate or prosecute anything.

You do have recourse, it's called a lawsuit, you can also campaign against the sheriff, or local DA, raise your voice about it and make a stink to get whoever fired.

But, the Govt has no duty to any individual, the duty is to the public.

The difference is, they may not HAVE to, but will they? If the police can simply snub their nose at someone who comes to them with a crime, then what good are they? Unless they just happen to be there when the crime is committed, if they have no duty to help those who have been violated, then they are certainly not there to “serve and protect”

As far as a lawsuit, that wouldn’t do any good either because most of the time, it’s the police who do the investigating.

I don’t think it’s that bad. If a police officer sees you committing a crime they have a duty to uphold the law and prevent the crime any further.

Now, in regards to what I was getting at, if these people come to your door and ask you to divulge if you are a trump supporter just record it and tell them to get bent. If your house is vandalized the I guess you bring a lawsuit, if that doesn’t work, then someone could retaliate and apparently the police didn’t have to even investigate that either.
