Democrats win another battle against Republican corruption

Pennsylvania court orders new congressional map due to gerrymandering

"(Reuters) - Pennsylvania’s top court on Monday threw out the state’s congressional map, ruling that Republican legislators unlawfully sought partisan advantage, and gave them three weeks to rework it in a decision that could boost Democratic chances of retaking the U.S. House of Representatives."

The more elections that Republicans have to win fair and square, the fewer they will win. Awesome.

Gerrymandering needs to stop once and for all. It would be great if we could get all 50 states to adopt the Iowa method, which seems to be the fairest. We also need to expand the size of the House of Representatives as that would also help dilute the propensity to gerrymander as districts would be geographically smaller and represent fewer people. We aren't getting representation when one person is elected out of a district of 700,000.

That said, Democrats are complete hypocrites on this issue. They have no problem gerrymandering in their favor when they control the drawing of districts. Illinois and Maryland are heavily gerrymandered by the Democrats and none of them have brought up lawsuits in those states. They also never complained when they had gerrymandered states like North Carolina, Texas, and others in their favor when they were in the majority. It wasn't until the GOP had a wave election in 2010 giving them control of the legislatures in 30 states, cutting the Dems out of the process, that they were suddenly outraged over the practice.

So something Dems did for decades is now illegal....

You also forgot to mention the split on the Penn SC is 5 Dems to 2 Republicans....

Funny post.

You have no real response....figures.

There is nothing of value in your post. That's what makes it funny.

I stated the obvious truth, something people like you willful ignore.

the obvious truth that apparently is pointless.

No, Dems have been gerrymandering as long as Republicans have. Dems are just better at using the courts to attack the other side for exactly what they are doing/want to do.

They also waited until they had a Dem majority on the Penn SC for this case to reach the end.

How does Iowa do it?

So you're for gerrymandering if Republicans do it, but against it if Democrats do it.

That's funnier yet.

No, I'm for both sides either doing it, or for some magical mystical method of making districts that are truly non-partisan, not "non-partisan" in name only.

You don't change the current situation unless you have a better one to replace it.

Are you OK with Dems doing it?
