There's ENORMOUS confusion in conservative circles about the left, specifically involving the conflation of this small group with the enormous group consisting of liberals/progressives/Democrats - the largest voting block in the country.
The actual left consists of about 3% of the voting population, while Democrats/liberals/progressives consist of more than 45%, and this much larger group in no way shares the primary aims of the left, nor The People at large.
If the left (and for the most part, The People) could have 3 wishes granted, these would be their top 3:
1) Affordable health care
2) Affordable housing
3) No more imperial war
And what have the Democrats done to address ANY of these desires?
As Biden said:
"I'm not a socialist - I beat the socialist."
And in this rare instance, he was speaking the truth, though cheated the socialist (actually social democrat) Sanders is much more accurate, as Bernie was stabbed in the back a second time in 2020 by the left-hating Democrats.
Were Democrats in ANY way leftist, they would have moved to secure Medicare for all or some other form of quasi-socialized medicine.
They did not & will not.
Were Democrats in ANY way leftist, they would have mobilized the federal government to create affordable housing.
They did not & will not.
Were Democrats in ANY way leftist, they would not have placed us on the brink of World War III.
But here we are.
And mind you, if the left had a 4th wish, it would be for secure borders, as how can you have a libertarian socialist utopia with millions of illegals pouring in and shredding the social safety net for the most vulnerable citizens?
No, the Democrats are clearly NOT aligned with leftist values, but PROFOUNDLY opposed to them.
This is reality, and continuing to conflate Democrats/liberals/progressives with the left is patently absurd.
