If I'm not mistaken, the House democrats passed the PRO Act, which among other things overturns the Right to Work laws in the 27 states that have such laws. Since it has nothing to do with revenue or spending or the debt, it cannot be passed via reconciliation (a simple majority). IOW, not a chance in hell of getting through the Senate. Which the democrats know full well, so this is nothing more than a ploy to get union support and campaign donations.

Biden did overturn Trump EOs regarding federal unions which were the subject of several lawsuits and labor practice challenges, that mandated a more constrained use of official time, required agencies to renegotiate collective bargaining agreements under strict parameters and made it easier to fire federal employees. Under Biden's executive order, agencies will no longer be required to pursue such stringent negotiations with federal unions. But Biden's EOs have nothing to do with RTW laws, he doesn't have that authority.

Never did find the Senate bill number.
Part of the bill sounds OK. I am all for not misclassifying workers either as contractors when they are not or salaried mgt to work them for straight pay with limited or no overtime.
The rub in this thing appears to be:
SEC. 111. Fair share agreements permitted.
Section 14(b) of the National Labor Relations Act (29 U.S.C. 164(b)) is amended by striking the period at the end and inserting the following: “: Provided, That collective bargaining agreements providing that all employees in a bargaining unit shall contribute fees to a labor organization for the cost of representation, collective bargaining, contract enforcement, and related expenditures as a condition of employment shall be valid and enforceable notwithstanding any State or Territorial law.”.

I am no lawyer, but that sounds like, anybody that goes to work in a union shop or works in a shop that votes to go union has to pay union dues whether they wish to be a union member or not. If that is the correct reading, then that is BULLSHIT ! If you want to join one, fine. Pay the dues and join. If you want to vote one in, vote it in, join and pay up. If you have moral objections to being in a union, voted against it or just think the shop steward, president and union rep are lowlife assholes and want no part of it, you should not be forced to pay dues to it, just because 51% of the other hourly workers believe in it.

All Americans should support the job creators and the entities that provide our goods and services. the government should make it easy for businesses to prosper. They didn't talk about this in Commie school, did they?

My wife joined a teacher's union when she first started teaching in the early 1970s. She did it because the union provided professional liability insurance. However, 1976 the asshole union supported that nitwit Jimmy Carter for president. They used her union dues as campaign donations.

She quit the union because they were bat shit Left Wing crazy and did not represent her values. Thank god that Florida was a right to work state that allowed her that choice or else she would have been force to remain a member of that dingaling organization.

I had a career as an Engineer in the aerospace industry. I worked in two facilities where there was a weak union, one facility where was no union and once facility where there was a strong union protect by the Democrat filth. By the way, they all got about the same wages and benefits.

The worst operated faclity was the one with the strong union. I could tell you horror stories on how they fucked the operation up. The only reason they got away with it is because they were in a state with strong Democrat representation.

Republicans took the only real political power that the working class had and murdered it. Still hating unions is yet another indication that right wing populism was always a lie. Only through unionization has a working man ever had any kind of voice in government of leverage over the people who profit from them.
