I wholeheartedly disagree. You get the worst of both worlds. You get all the downsides of centralized control, with few of the supposed benefits. Likewise, you get all the avarice of the free market, but it's dominated by rent-seeking corporations who get in bed with government.

I guess we need to have all those socialist pay a visit to your neighborhood and remove all those Socialist services that they installed. Time to rip out the pluming at the street level while they are tearing out the streets. Time to tear down all the Light Poles going to your home. The States were telling the Feds to bugger off. I imagine that the Federal Alcohol Tax was really loved by many of the people in the 1790s. But the State Governments knew that if they didn't support it, the funds to run the Federal Government would have to come directly from them. Then the Nation continued to grow to the point where some things just go too expensive for even one state to afford and all the states had to kick in. And we haven't stopped since. You can call it socialism if you want or anything else but it's all of us looking out for everyone else and all of us end up better in the process.

I think we’ve seen the power of our natural resources during ww2. America supplied nearly all the energy requirements and built most of the hardware for the entire allied effort. Can the US gov. Print money where states can’t. Bet our collective arse.

In a Social/Capital System you have the best of both worlds.

I wholeheartedly disagree. You get the worst of both worlds. You get all the downsides of centralized control, with few of the supposed benefits. Likewise, you get all the avarice of the free market, but it's dominated by rent-seeking corporations who get in bed with government.

I guess we need to have all those socialist pay a visit to your neighborhood and remove all those Socialist services that they installed.

That would be great, but I don't expect such radical change. Simply not adding to the problem would be sufficient.

I would rather the rest of us get the services and we just rip yours out. Much simpler that way and more cost effective. No Internet, no electricity, no silly bitching on the internet that way.

Exactly. That's the problem with a "Social/Capital System" (ie corporatism). Private corporations shouldn't benefit from colluding with government.

Every election would be a partisan battle over health care. Each party would use state control over health care to strong arm society. No thanks.

Then we need to get rid of the dysfunction. Right now, the biggest dysfunction is Rump. We need a quiet 4 years to let it quiet down. And, let's face it, Biden will not be flamboyant.

The following Video, I thought was humor. lately, the tv judge sums up Rump very, very close.

In four years, all Trumper has managed to do is add to the corruption, the inmates in prison and raise the swamp by 10 feet. There is more theft of tax monies than any-other president.
