Democrats praying for retaliation.

It’s economic reality, something Trump should have considered more seriously.
How does this move to destroy Iran's nuclear bomb development facilities show a lack of concern for economic reality?

Iran may embargo oil, but if they nuked Israel and the U.S. turned Iran into a glass parking lot, the flow of oil would slow even more.

Read it again.

As long as Iran has the ability enrich uranium they will always be just steps away from a nuclear weapon.

You can attempt to obfuscate this absolute fact, but that will not change it. As long as Iran can enrich uranium, they have a ready made nuclear weapons program.

If you allow your opinion to be spoon fed to you by the media (whichever flavor you choose) then your reality may not be as accurate as you assume it is.

Just saying. There really are some VERY bad people running things.

That's the problem, exactly, in my view. People are parroting what they're hearing from the government / MSM.... not realizing that the same crowd who controls the media wants all these wars.

I'm definitely of the "no new wars" camp.

But that doesn't mean to me we must be docile isolationists.

We had a convergence of circumstances that almost necessitated our intervention.

Russia is distracted, Israel knocked of Iran's air defenses, and we gave Iran every opportunity for a diplomatic solution. This was an opportunity we couldn't pass up.
I hear you. I would prefer no new wars. This president ran on '"no new wars", and at the moment, this is not one for us. One 2 A.M. raid on nuclear targets from 8,000 miles away before flying home home 8,000 miles to have dinner at the O' Club and sleep in your own bed with your wife is more like a live fire FTX than a war. At least unless or at least until they hit back. And, it won't be here. It will be against our troops in Iraq and Syria. They need to watch their ass. I, like you, am firmly against US boots on the ground, in large scale operation. I am pretty sure, we have Seal Teams and Delta doing specific intel missions on the ground there now, but that is not designed as large scale combat, what we all think of as war. I am against a US structured regime change. We aren't worth a shit at regime change and haven't got it right, in the 70 plus year(the time I have been alive).

Do you never think for yourself or have opinions that you culled from the lib media?
I think for myself all the time. You should try it, sometime.

Original opinion of the OP. No link required.

And this is my opinion. Democrats perspective has become so warped... (and maybe Republicans too when Democrats hold the reigns of power, but today we're talking about today's events)... that they sincerely hope that Iran retaliates in a meaningful way only for the purpose of sullying President Trump decision to destroy Iran's nuclear ambitions.

Maybe not all of them, but a significant number. Once again they hang their hopes on outcomes that are detrimental to Americans... just like President Trump's expansion of tariffs to level the playing field, Democrats couldn't wait to take the side of China. When President Trump pursued a doctrine of deporting Illegal Aliens, the Democrats jumped at the opportunity to take the side of foreign nationals.

In my opinion, what's good for Democrats of late is bad for America. Democrats need to get their party back on the rails for the good of the country.
Why is it that when Trump does something somehow it's about Democrats (hoping) something.

Let me tell you. You guys elected him. Most of you boasting he was the one that wanted peace, the one that didn't start wars. Now he has attacked a nation, as far as I can tell without a provocation from them at least towards America.

And here you are. Instead of acknowledging that fact, you attack some hypothetical Democratic reaction. I suspect because you know this will have consequences... adverse consequences for American interests.

Those consequences won't be there because Democrats wished them to happen. They will be there because choices Trump and through your vote you caused. So live with them instead of calling out people who don't agree with his (and your) choices.

Ok, you think for yourself but dont give the rest of us the same credit

We have to give you a source for our opinions

You won't be agreeing with Trump much longer.....not after he eliminates or significantly reduces your disability benefits with this horrible "Big Beautiful Bill".
Your concern for my benefits is touching

And totally fake

Agreed. It may be safe to assume Iran is pursuing nuclear weapons.
But like the examples I pointed out above, are we absolutely certain of who the bad guy is here other than what we've been spoonfed by the MSM?

How many Iranians do you know PERSONALLY?
So if I read you correctly, you dont mind if ths mullahs in Iran build nuclear bombs to compliment their ICBM rockets?

Thats kinda crazy

Why would you want to take that chance?

To answer your question I dont know any iranians with enormous beards and a towel wrapped around their heads

The few Persians I am acquainted with want the mullahs overthrown

Closing the Strait of Hormuz would have a devastating economic effect.

Navy task forces travel in convoys and are designed for just such a threat or threats, they have AWAC's, Satellites, submarines, destroyers, frigates, helicopters and their own missile systems to deal with it/them, they are also always on the move making them difficult to impossible to locate...but lets wait for the REAR Admiral to weigh in before we get ahead of ourselves.
Trump promised no new wars. We’re only in this because Bibi played Donny and now he has to save face.

They could try and we would just open it. They have no right to close the straight simply because they got caught trying to violate the non-nuclear proliferation treaty

This is hardly a new war

Trump also promised what would happen with Iran if they djdnt give up their nuclear weapons program

Old strategy whose time has come and gone...besides the fifth fleet is homeported/deployed out of baharain in the Arabian sea where Hormuz is located, [but check that out just to make sure I got it right] the red sea is the real oil highway, all we have to do is tie up Iranian air space with day and night saturation/carpet bombing [like in Iraq] making priority one for them defense of their own air space, any missiles that happen to get through will then have to avoid our "iron dome" defense system, that include fighter jets, then avoid the ground forces air defenses then our naval air defenses which are our greatest anti-missile defense [surface vessels and submarines both] then avoid detection from our AWAC's and satellites and only then they can worry about finding moving targets they cannot see.

That would be quite the feat, but what would it matter? what would it change? more than likely it would benefit us if for no other reason than to stir/give the countries selling and buying that oil a reason to join the fray, in fact who would it surprise if we allowed something like that to happen for just that purpose?
You really think there’s going to be normal traffic? Any stoppage will be felt for months. That’s what happens when you allow a petulant man-child have that kind of power.
