Consider: Slave owners in the South were holding "livestock" that they had paid for and maintained, sometimes for generations, and a decree from Washington made that Livestock worthless. Should those families be compensated?

What about the millions of "African Americans" who are of mixed race? Should the Markel lady get a payment from the U.S. government for SLAVERY??? Should the "white" part of their DNA pay the "Black" part?

What about the hundred million or so American taxpayers (including me) whose ancestors weren't even on this continent in 1864? Should they have to contribute anything?

What about the descendants of Civil War soldiers who risked and gave their lives to free the slaves? Do they OWE ANYTHING MORE?

If it were possible to calculate a dollar amount for an individual "Black" person, descended from slaves, would the Government get any credit for past welfare payments, housing vouchers, food stamps, free medical care, free education, free babysitting, and on and on and on?

Someone who supports "reparations," please explain how it would work.
