Democrats name their price on ending government shutdown

You know the cuts are a result of the BBB passed using budget reconciliatgion, with zero democrate votes. BTW, Vance cast the tiebreaking vote.

The GOP told the DEMs, and I paraphrase: "Sit down, shut up, we won, you lost".

Now the GOP needs DEM votes and they wonder why they aren't getting them.d

Republican claims that they are seeking to provide free healthcare to undocumented individuals have been strongly denied by Democratic leaders.

Wrong again, the expiration of the expanded ACA credits was not in the BBB, it was already law, passed by dems only.

.

If you add up how much SNAP people “pay” for soda, candy, Cheetos, etc., for the last six months, they could have bought some nutritious food to stick in the freezer and last them through November.

Republicans passed a clean CR two months ago, it's the Dems that are stopping its passage. If republicans actually controlled everything, then tell the class how the dems are gumming up the works.

.

Okay...so if the Republicans pass something (or if the Democrats were to pass something), the party that is in the minority is supposed to just accept whatever is passed? Really? On what planet have you been living your entire life where this WAS EVER THE CASE!???? We’ve had this system in place since the 1790’s. The House passes a bill, the Senate votes on it. Then there is reconciliation and a bill is sent to the White House.

What has happened is that the House passed a bill and left town. They’ve been legislatively out of session for about a month and half now. In the pre-blob era, law makers negotiated. They’re scared to do that now because of the blob and folks like yourself who want zero compromise.

We need to re-interpret what health insurance SHOULD be for: major issues. Not every little boo-boo. That’s a big reason why costs are so high.

Let’s do it for six months. Otherwise, the Dems will blackmail the country again next Oct.
Ah so instead of giving a year of stability you're saying let's only allow for six months after which back to square one. So my question is, what difference would that make? In the end it comes down to the same thing. The GOP wants to make ACA unaffordable for some and more expensive for all. From purely political standpoint I'd say let them. I'd love for Cletus to get his wake-up call early.

Of course he is.

His legacy has gone from total nothingburger to complete laughingstock.

He doesn't want to go out like this.

As a former New Yorker, I can attest to the fact that Schumer has Always been a nothingburger. He failed as an attorney and ambulance chaser and got into politics ti survive.
Like Bernie Sanders, Schumer never worked a day in his life. He's been a politician from the day he left college.

No, I said that if the SNAP people had stopped spending on soda and junk food for six months, and used that money to build a reserve in the freezer, they’d be just fine at this point.

We need to dismantle the Obamacare hoax and return to where things were. We had many more people able to afford health insurance before he crammed this down our throats.
You do realize what the world was before Obamacare right? If not, I'd advise you to look up what the numbers of uninsured where.

Dems set the date for the subsidies to expire with no republican votes, and now, like most dems, they don't want to be held responsible for their own decisions. They're trying to place the responsibility on republicans, and have their propaganda machine in high gear.

.
Liar.

Lots of the uninsured simoly chose to spend their money on more fun things. And the poor had Medicaid.

And things were much better then than they are now. Fewer people can afford health insurance now without government welfare picking up most of the cost.

How many needing SNAP you suppose would have the luxury to lay down a reserve just in case the benefits would fall away? In fact, how many people you know have reserve food in house being able to last a month.

And then next year, they’ll hold the government hostage to get another year.

Democrats do what they do. Their TDS is is great it blinds their eyes and their thinking. The tax paying People are not included in their decisions.

I just explained it. They stop wasting money on soda and junk food and buy stuff that can be frozen for emergencies. Or even shelf-stable food like pasta and pasta sauce, cans of veggies and fruits, and so forth.

And I don’t need reserve food in the house because I pay for my own groceries. But if I were dependent on a government program for my food, you bet I’d have a reserve.

Yes because people chose to not have health insurance because they are irresponsible. Funny though how many after ACA came to be all of a sudden became less irresponsible. I'm sure those things are unrelated.

I'm not sure if you are this detached from reality or simply gaslighting.

I you need government assistance to provide food you don't have the luxury of reserve. It's very interesting that that's a concept you don't seem to grasp.
