Liberal hate this country to the core and hold the people in contempt and derision. Beyond appalling.

The nuclear option is a two-edged sword that dems will use against us the next time they are in chargeThune can end the filibuster by using the nuclear option but seems afraid to do it.
You guys said there would be death panels. He had to pull them over the finish line, often “negotiating” in a back room.
And while nobody claimed it was perfect, Obama DID hail it as a wonderful new system, saying we could keep our doctor…..keep our plan….and it would be more affordable too.
Lie. Lie. And lie.
Schumer's compromise is narrow their demands down to just expanded ACA subsidies. And I suppose to you that is totally Democrats fault? Elections have consequences, and in November of last year Democrats LOST!
Now does that mean that Legislators shouldn't entertain ideas from the Democrats? No, of course not. However, what I see Democrats did here is searched through the BBB and were upset at provisions that were passed by Congress, and signed by the duly elected President. It smacks of a party that believes that they can wield controlling power even as the American people have rejected their governance....
The ACA is failing because it always was a deeply flawed program...And really was always more a payoff to Insurance industry titans that donate to the left.
But, regardless of all of that. The expiration was set by Democrats, passed by Democrats, and signed into law by a Democrat....Make no mistake, Democrats own this....
That's another issue. The fact is, this expiration is totally at the feet of Dems...And, it's not even all about Health Insurance. Schumer's list of demands reads like a wish list of pure taxpayer giveaways globally for stupid shit....We addressed that when we moved USAID into the State Dept. Dems hate that because that was how they were getting rich, grifting the American tax payer.
You think “give us what we want, and you get nothing” is compromising?Schumer's compromise is narrow their demands down to just expanded ACA subsidies.
You should have read the OP.
Republicans get to open the government back up.You think “give us what we want, and you get nothing” is compromising?
We didn’t shut it down.Republicans get to open the government back up.
The Democrats will use it once they are in the majority regardless of what the GOP does. The nuclear option is a two-edged sword that dems will use against us the next time they are in charge
MaybeThe Democrats will use it once they are in the majority regardless of what the GOP does.
The Democrats tried it but Manchin and Sinema blocked the effort.Maybe
But so far neither side has
Republicans failed to pass a budget. We didn’t shut it down.
I agree that the dems probably will because radical socialists are taking over the partyThe Democrats tried it but Manchin and Sinema blocked the effort.
It's almost as though the Republicans don't want anything passed and want lower income earners punished.
Almost.
The republicans are 100% responsible being the party that contols all 3 branches of government and both houses of congress.
The fact they can’t govern has never been more vivid.
And you would rather they were in perpetuity?
You do know that Democrats didn't have filibuster proof majorities, right?
So there was at least tacit agreement from the republicans.

Democrats name their price on ending government shutdown
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said Friday that Democrats would vote to end the government shutdown in exchange for a one-year extension of expiring ACA tax credits, multiple sources told Axios.
Commentary:
So basically, the compromise is the socialists get what they want, the republicans get bupkis. They want one year because they think they win congress back in a year where they can then ram it through and control a second shutdown.
It's a distinction without a difference. This is STILL trying to put the camel’s nose into the tent, and with the resulting dislocations later on. The place for these spending measures is in a full and real appropriations bill, not a continuing resolution.
Kicking the can down the road only further damages the can. Besides, we are running out of road.
Senator John Kennedy has the right idea.
The Senate should not be paid their monthly salaries until they vote .
If Democrats are willing to stop the government allow the military, air controller and SNAP recipients to go without, then they should also go without the salaries until they sit down and negotiate and leave hostage taking to terrorists.
Wrong again, it was passed by the dems using budget reconciliation, with zero republican votes. BTW, Harris cast the tiebreaking vote. So take your propaganda elsewhere, I'm not buying your lies.
