So, Dems say a $6 billion cut in military benefits over 10 years is good and over $4 billion a year being spent on tax refunds for illegal aliens is also good? They don't want to change either one of these things.

Of course, many veterans vote against liberal policies. Welfare recipients, especially illegal aliens who benefit from tax payers, are likely to vote for the liberal politicians.

In 2011, the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration found that “individuals who are not authorized to work in the United States” and therefore did not have a valid Social Security number were still able to obtain billions in Additional Child Tax Credits by filing returns with an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number.

Specifically the Internal Revenue Service watchdog found that unauthorized individuals received $4.2 billion refundable credits in Processing Year 2010.

Oh, shit, Dave... So they get a taxpayer ID, taxes are estimated and deducted from their check. When tax time comes around, like most everyone, they have overpaid in withholdings so they file a tax return. Like everyone, they take their deductions and figure their tax. They them apply the credits. And, like everyone, if the have overpaid, they get their refund. If the credit exceeds their tax liability, box 11 is less than box 12, they write zero and rewcieve no refund. Because, at no time in all my years of taxes have I ever seen the calculation result in a net payment from the IRS.

So, what you are telling me is that the Republicans want to steal money from illegal immigrants who have paid taxes. Not only that, they want to steal money from children.

That is the logical conclusion given what info you have provided.

Republicans steal money from babies.

The Ayotte amendment was the amendment. The article I posted is dated Feb. 2014 so it's more current than any you posted.

Meaningless. The OP was about the amendment that would have funded the cuts to veterans' benefits with the money saved by cutting off illegal refunds to illegal immigrants The amendment that all Senate Democrats but one opposed.

Don't you get frustrated when you realize you can't dictate reality?
