The psychological burden on liberals in the age of Donald Trump is immense

The liberal malaise that has followed Trump’s shocking victory is a by-product of the left’s unreasonable expectations. Many liberals and progressives were encouraged to see Barack Obama as messianic and to understand his politics as emancipatory, and they fell for it.

When the political process fails to perform as they would like, activists and ideologues become disillusioned and embittered. They also become convinced not of the unreasonableness of their position but of the incompetence of their representatives

The Republican Party is the definition of incompetence!

They sometimes resort to multiple sock accounts to pretend they're having a greater impact too

“DNC IS SITTING ON $735 MILLION and it's only April. The RNC is sitting on $678 M. What’s the difference? The DNC has gotten its money from 6 M small donors. The RNC got their money from fewer than 600,000 larger ones”. ~ Sean Gallagher
