Ultimately, (most) politicians are about power and money - they stick their stakes in the ground around central issues then spin the plates on top of them..... since the US is moving more and more toward liberal mindedness, it has now created a division due to the strain of those not willing to give up on their Christian and/or conservative values. Major changes ALWAYS have that effect.
