Even Lincoln locked a popular vote when he was elected.

Originally it was an insurgency movement against the Northern Republicans and their Southern allies the free'd black men. The Freemen. The KKK type had a major victory in 1877 when the North got tired of the occupation and killings. Then they eventually they took over the local authorities and became the law.

Why? To enslave an entire race in perpetuity like they did, they had to deeply engrain the premise that the whole race was an inferior and the white race was superior. It was obviously so pervasive that they fought a bloody war over their belief of that. It's just not easy to wipe out. I think all those things were the result of that conflict as well.

What an embarrassment the Neo-GOP propaganda squad has become. While this poor father was arrested at a school board meeting, it was not because he was speaking to the board in protest about how his daughters' case was handled or anything of that nature. He got into a fight with someone else in the audience and when the police arrived he resisted their commands and was eventually arrested for that. Continued sensationalizing this one case because of the trans issue allows lawmakers to pedal in hyperbole and ignore the plethora of sexual assaults in the K-12 system that don't involve a trans person.
