In a statement provided to KOAT, Legacy Church was defiant about Grisham's order: "It's tragic that what we do for thousands of shut-ins, those in despair, and kids who go without meals gets no state notice, but fixation on one service can net us large fines. The state should fold its losing hand against Churches as Colorado has, focus on the truly vulnerable, and recognize what the US Supreme Court has recently said about Churches because we must continue to do what we are called to."

I am of the firm belief that the ONLY reason these churches are demanding live, in person services, is that the pastors need the cash from the collection plates, to live on. Most often those in defiance of such orders are not part of large mainstream denominations, but rather independent and unaffiiated congregations.

One of my American friends belongs to a congregation which decided to go ahead with a Palm Sunday service, just as everything was shutting down last spring. 300 people attended. 75 got sick, resulting in a cluster of 220 positive cases and 29 deaths - including the minister, who urged the Session to cancel the service for the sake of safety. Her congregation was devasted not just by the deaths, but that their church caused so much suffering and anguish.

Her posts about this horror was to make sure the same thing didn't happen to our congregations. The guilt was eating the elders who made the decision alive.

There are so many ways of worshipping God that do NOT involve risking our health and that of our neighbours. Every prayer you utter, every piece of scripture you read, every kindness you extend to others, is living the Word.

I'm an atheist---so don't get me wrong---about my like or dislike of churches BUT---------using the mask mandate as a way to break up the churches to replace them with liberalism is crazy stupid...and I am beginning to think that is one of the goals of the mask mandates and socially distancing. Ask not what you can do for your Saviour, ask what your Saviour can do for you. Love yourself, as Jesus loved you. Let the other guys worry about themselves and do the same.

And millions of people all over the world come to the US for health care. Why? Because their universal government run health care lets them down one way or another, with no viable options within their own country. So they either try to find it abroad or die.

"People" don't go the USA from all over the world for health care. Rich people go to the USA for experimental treatments they can't get at home, and to jump line ups and get "concierge treatment".

Why? Because no other first world country allows their medical system to "sell" treatments to non-citizens. You can't decide to come to Canada for treatment because it's cheaper or better, because our tax dollars fund our health care systems, and you don't pay taxes here. Our health care system doesn't have excess capacity to treat outsiders, even if they can afford to pay. There are waiting lists for all treatments, and as long as one Canadian is waiting for treatment, hospitals can't sell their services to non-Canadians.
