I've looked at it; its clear they are heavily dependent on tax monies.See post above yours dum dum
Really? Which page is that on? Their revenue is reported in the first 8 pages, so which page and item number is the taxpayer money?I've looked at it; its clear they are heavily dependent on tax monies.
BTW your insurance question is answered on page 13....I've looked at it; its clear they are heavily dependent on tax monies.
Oh? I have to give specifics but you don't? I don't think so.Really? Which page is that on? Their revenue is reported in the first 8 pages, so which page and item number is the taxpayer money?
LOL.Oh? I have to give specifics but you don't? I don't think so.

I've spoon fed you this now twice. If it's so obvious that they "a heavily dependent on taxpayer monies" which page is that revenue stream reported on.
PS: Is Kirby Smart a State Employee? The report proves it. IF you're not going to post specifics, I don't have to either.
Or perhaps you can show me where it says no taxpayer money is used.
Yeah. Page 3 item id 2.The report proves it. IF you're not going to post specifics, I don't have to either.

PS: Is Kirby Smart a State Employee?
Nope.No he works for USGAA which is a privately funded non profit organization which funds all of UGA's athletics.
More accurately he's paid by them.
Coaching Salaries,Benefits and Bonusespaid by the Universityand Related Entities $29,154,167 Input compensation, bonuses and benefits paid to all coachesreportable on the university or related entities W-2 and 1099forms, as well as non-taxable benefits (1098T), inclusive of:• Gross wages and bonuses.Taxable and non-taxable benefits include: allowances, speakingfees, retirement, stipends, memberships, media income, tuitionreimbursement/exemptions (for self or a dependent) and earneddeferred compensation, including those funded by the state.•Place any severance payments in Category 26.Note: Bonuses related to participation in a post-season footballbowl game should be included in Category 41A
The UGAAA repays his salary to the University. I posted the line item from their financials dum dum.Nope.
Georgia's top-paid state employees include UGA football coach, ports and pension chiefs
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution compiled its annual top state pay list for fiscal 2023 using data from Open Georgia. The million-dollar pay club has gone from nine to 13 members in the past two years.www.ajc.com
He’s a state employee. You can’t even be honest about that. Thus he is paid by taxpayers.
As proven, the Government pays Kirby Smart. Sorry. You lost this one.Yeah. Page 3 item id 2.
Direct State or OtherGovernment Support $0 Input state, municipal, federal and other appropriations made insupport of athletics. This amount includes funding specifically earmarked for theathletics department by government agencies for which theinstitution cannot reallocate. This amount also includes state funded employee benefits.Corresponding expenses should be reported in Categories 22 and24.Any state or other government support appropriated to theuniversity, for which the university determines the dollarallocation to the athletics department shall be reported in DirectInstitutional Support (Category 4).
Any more tough questions?
Now show us where they do.
Re-pays. So you admit he is paid by the State. Cool. Thanks for that concession you swore you wouldn’t have to make. Im glad they are doing this out of the goodness of their heart (if they actually are doing it which is sketchy at best). The UGAAA repays his salary to the University. Unless the “private fund” guys decide not to pay (if they pay at all).Fine he's paid by the state and then that money is repaid to the University out of private funds. In other words, it doesn't actually cost the taxpayer a dime.
Unless the “private fund” guys decide not to pay (if they pay at all).
So? Do you think that if that guy isn't making his salary that the money he's being paid magically gets divided up amongst all the teachers in GA? Because it doesnt. The private donations given to the UGAAA to run the athletic dept and pay that salary disappear if the athletic dept goes away.I read the AJC article further. The Wide Receiver coach--quick do you know what his name is--guess how much he makes a year. Over a million dollars. The average teacher in GA makes $62K.

In Texas the ex A&M football coach is making $70M.
Any argument that the spending on sports is completely out of control is crazy.
LOL...Thanks again for confirming he’s a State employee and his pay comes from the taxpayers. Reimbursement (if it does happen) is dependent on the mood of whomever this shadowy group is you swear is reimbursing the State. If that happens you'll have a point. Until then you don't.
No. But it’s a pretty good idea to do so. Does the WR coach really need to be paid a million dollars a year? This...on top of each coordinator getting $4M?So? Do you think that if that guy isn't making his salary that the money he's being paid magically gets divided up amongst all the teachers in GA?
Sure.Because it doesnt. The private donations given to the UGAAA to run the athletic dept and pay that salary disappear if the athletic dept goes away.
Hmmm...the Athletic Director disagrees with you.Which is a completely separate conversation to the one about whether those salaries are being paid by the taxpayer.
Texas A&M pays record $75M to buy out football coach's contract
Texas A&M University’s governing board agreed Sunday to pay $75 million to buy out the remaining years on the contract of Jimbo Fisher, the football coach it fired after winning 45 of 70 games over the six years he was its coach.www.insidehighered.com
"University officials told media sources that donor funds, and no public money, would be used to pay Fisher. Several media reports indicated Fisher’s buyout is by far the largest ever in college football."
Hey look no taxpayer money is being used for that either.
the 12th man association pays for the athletics dept at A&M. Any more windmills you'd like to tilt at?
Do you think they are lying to the NCAA and the IRS?LOL...Thanks again for confirming he’s a State employee and his pay comes from the taxpayers. Reimbursement (if it does happen) is dependent on the mood of whomever this shadowy group is you swear is reimbursing the State.
Irrelevant since the University isn't paying for the athletic teams, UGAAA is.No. But it’s a pretty good idea to do so. Does the WR coach really need to be paid a million dollars a year? This...on top of each coordinator getting $4M?
Sure.
Say...by the way....what is the purpose of the university...to educate or to field athletic teams?
Hmmm...the Athletic Director disagrees with you.

Texas A&M Athletic Director Ross Bjork talks firing Jimbo Fisher and eating the $76M he's guaranteed
Bjork’s tenure in College Station, and the Aggies’ future, hinges on the decisions he'll make for TAMU's football program in the next few weeks.www.wfaa.com
I never said it made sense. I said the taxpayer wasn't paying the freight at UGA. Which they aren't. You can not like the fact that private citizens want to donate THIER money to fund the football program at UGA and other various universities but it wont change the fact that they do. And doing away with them wont add a penny to the tax base used to pay teachers. In fact it will likely erode much of that money seeing as how the state is collecting huge sums of money taxing all the revenue these programs generate both directly and indirectly. Stop trying to change the subject. Its mind boggling how this is even being discussed. Paying a guy $70M not to coach...with taxpayer money or private money is brazenly irresponsible.
But there you are trying to say that it makes sense--somehow---because well, having a football team is cool. And really...isn’t that what your entire sad argument is REALLY about? It’s cool to have a football team. It has nothing to do with enriching the young men who play, it has nothing to do with installing values. It has nothing to do with team spirit or any of that nonsense. Its cool to have a team. Just like in the pros; jobs created are minimal by the NFL/NBA/MLB teams. “Redevelopment” as they promised in Houston never happened on a large scale. Revenues never materialized and they were furloughing cops inside of a decade after opening 3 stadiums. It’s all about ego.
