We know why Trump won. He, being the expert con man that he is, convinced you that the underpinning of our economy, namely neoliberalism can produce a new Golden Age for ordinary people. Since neoliberalism was introduced as our economic model by Ronald Reagan it has only produced the decline of the middle class and left poor people in the dust. Cause that's what it's designed to do. Me? I'm not the Dem party leadership. They have to do some soul searching. When the Teamsters didn't endorse Harris I got concerned. I don't know if they did.

So, I ask Democrats and those who voted for Harris, after a few days have you done any soul searching as to why Trump won? Or, have you just ignored any soul searching and are sticking with, "I didn't realize that there were that many crazy misogynistic racist MAGAs out there who have been conned by the convicted orange felon who is a threat to democracy?".

Biden and the Democrats did not do a good job in showing what they have done positively for the nation. Trump saying that we are worse off now than when he was president (to the nth degree) and Biden being old and not all that communicative and Harris keying more on Trump than what he and she accomplished is what doomed them.

What Harris should have done is not key so much on Trump (though I can certainly see why she did it) and key on explaining things are not as bad as people think they are. That the bad that is being seen was because of the pandemic and not because of Biden. She should have talked more about the low unemployment, the raginst bull stock market, the big profits all companies are making and how we are now the #1 nation in the world on all of those things. She should have done that as repeatedly as Trump was saying we are worse off.

The reality of life is that most people do not really evaluate things other than what is presently happening to them. They do not do research, they do not compare, they do not rationalize.

People listen to their leaders and what their leaders say and in "saying" negative things as much as Trump did, they should have done the exact opposite and say all the good things that are happening, and do it over and over and over and over again.

That was the problem. Lack of understanding of how people think and feel. On that Trump is a master.

Having said that, the consequences of such a way of thinking are always painful and all those who voted for Trump (excepting those that believe the country should be a dictatorship) are going to suffer greatly for their decision to vote for him. That is what I believe

But, what I got out of that is that you don't think they should have done anything differently, other than better messaging. Better messaging only means that you didn't spin it well enough so you need to spin it even more. When things are right, peole already know and don't need messaging or better spinning.

I doubt the border crisis had nearly as much to do with it as it has affected far fewer people relatively.

Keep believing that. Forget the fact it was also the complete ineptitude of the left to notice, even though every poll pointed it out. The utter lack of common sense and belief that Harris was entitled to votes played just as much of a role. It was a leadership failure, the entire left's leadership failed. You won't fix that anytime soon.
