An essay by Tyler O'Neil in "The Daily Signal" Sunday hit the nail on the head. Those who say Trump was out of line blaming DEI for the DC plane/helicopter crash, maybe it wasn't that, but he is dang sure credible in believing it was a factor. It is DEI policies that are the No. 1 reason the airport control towers all over the country are so understaffed.

This thread is not intended to focus only on the DC tragedy, but the whole concept of how politicians and media and organizations like the SPLC use DIE in ways that decreased quality and excellence and make America less great.

Quote from the essay (emphasis mine):
"If the legacy media wanted to prove that the movement for diversity, equity, and inclusion is a smokescreen for the Left’s woke priorities, it couldn’t do much better than USA Today’s response to President Donald Trump’s statement about Wednesday night’s horrific aircraft collision over Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

Trump blamed DEI for the crash, suggesting that misplaced priorities in the previous administration had contributed to an environment where officials cut corners on safety in order to achieve left-wing goals.

USA Today reported that “civil rights leaders” slammed Trump for the remarks, but the paper led its coverage with one of the least credible organizations in America today.

That was a mistake of epic proportions. . .

. . .Southern Poverty Law Center

The Southern Poverty Law Center is the last organization that should lecture Trump about the virtues of diversity and inclusion.

As I wrote in my book, “Making Hate Pay: The Corruption of the Southern Poverty Law Center,” the SPLC smears mainstream conservative and Christian organizations by placing them on a “hate map” alongside chapters of the Ku Klux Klan. A former employee described that as a “highly profitable scam” to scare donors into ponying up cash. . ."

O'Neil concludes with:

". . .DEI may present itself as noble, but like the SPLC, it’s an attempt to stifle dissent and force radical change. DEI involves promoting people based on certain characteristics, rather than based on merit, and as such, it hinders important institutions like the FAA from hiring and promoting the most competent people for the job.

By giving voice to a morally bankrupt organization that uses DEI as a cudgel against its opponents, USA Today unwittingly helped reveal that Trump’s criticism of DEI is accurate, and that DEI is itself a smokescreen to pursue the woke agenda."

Never were those promoting diversity, equity or inclusion to the exclusion of qualifications, instinct, aptitude, ability, experience, knowhow anything more than short sighted, woke, partisan anti-American, mean spirited, destructive idiots for want of a better word to describe them.

DEI died a couple of weeks ago
We wish. We are winning some battles. But it will take some perseverance and courage to win this war. The same anti-American mentality that gave us DEI is still out there and just itching to regain its power.

You mean MAGA?

We had a worker fired on Wednesday from the DEI team who was helping disabled veterans in our state.

I mean common sense.

Maybe that person wasn't helping at all. Labels are often not accurate as to ability/suitability and performance.

As usual, you don't know what you are talking about.

The person was a great worker, very effective, and well respected by the veterans.

Has nothing to do with it. My ancestors were tough as they come but were overcome. That has nothing to do with this.
They were intolerant racists unwilling to accept diversity, inclusion, and land ownership equity. The very thing you folks pretend you care about now.

Of course, guys who save the world are good guys.
Totally missed the point on that one.

Not all acts to preserve the good are done the right or moral way, sometimes they involve less than ethical or moral methods.

Not all good guys are perfect, and some guys who do good are not good people otherwise.

Not much one for nuance, are you?

The whites were nothing about d.e.i. They came to take the land and the resources, period. The natives wanted to hold on to what they had. You "whataboutism" only circles around and bites you in the ass.

Those folk must be eliminated
