Defeat From the Jaws of Victory

LOL, you guys are still bitching about how the Democrats defeated your efforts to fix the primary there?

You crack me up.

Preach it, Oliver. Preach it.

Word. Can I get a witness?

Let me break it down for you all. First of all, from the Wiki:

The Texas Presidential Primary was held on March 4. It was an open primary, permitting participants to vote for candidates in any one party, regardless of voters' party affiliations. Participants were then considered as restricted to that party for the purpose of calculations regarding primaries and runoff elections for the next two years. The Primary itself was funded by the Texas State Government and administered by the Secretary of the State of Texas's office. The Texas Democratic Party used the results of the Primary to determine how its 126 district delegates would be apportioned to each presidential candidate.

Now, during the days prior to the primary, there was a massive radio campaign among right-wing commentators to get as many Republicans to vote for Hillary Clinton as possible, according to them it was "to sow dissention among the democrats, and keep the primary race closely and bitterly divided".

As a result, tens of thousands of Republicans in several states, including Texas, flocked to the polls to rig the primary.

These were people that never had any intention of voting for a Democratic candidate.

Bill Clinton even went so far as to make an appearance on Rush Limbaugh's radio show in order to plug his wife's candidacy.

To this day, many Republicans are still pissed that their plan didn't work. Apparently they believed that either Clinton was a weaker opponent, or that the dissention they sowed would weaken whatever candidate won the primary enough to push McCain over the top.

It came down to who was the best experienced person to put Humpty Dumpty back together as we spiraled forward into the abyss. Yet, retards voted for McCain who voted 98% of the time on Bush, and promised bomb bomb Iran, a third war and trillions more in debt. The retards voted Obama in the primary to knock the Clinton team out, so no bitchin' please. You are getting exactly what republicans wanted to give the American economy.

Wow, pass a couple of lefty favorites and she's already sucking his large Negro cock again. No wonder Obama's popularity shifts with the Left. They have no loyalty whatsoever.

Always classy.

I"m wondering why he thinks Obama has a "large" cock though? Personally I think most driven politicians have small penises.

Perhaps Rabbi has a "Large Negro Cock" fantasy that's leaking out in this thread.

i think the pretend rabbi is more concerned about his own miniscule genitalia since he seems obsessed with those that belong to other men.

Yes, funny how the Retards can't see how they caused their own demise is so many ways. They just can't accept responsibility for their own actions.

For a country $14T in debt and with more poor people than ever, yeah, those are meaningless.

That's what happens when the Republicans put the nation into a near depression that the Dems have to dig us out of. And still does not change the image that the Repubs present post election. The only way that we can spare a money for the people they put out of work, for the responders of 9-11, is if we give a 800 billion dollar tax break to the people that created the recession-depression in the first place.

Yes, the Repukes definately branded their party as only careing about the top 2%. And the people of this nation see them as they truly are. Stewert and Colbert presented it correctly.

sugar snaps....bush won, do you think he stole the election? there was no reason for scalia to recuse himself, if he recuses simply because he was appointed by a former president, then all of them would have to be recused

no.. he was hunting buddies with cheney. that's why he should have recused... as any judge in any normal court should have.

do i think he stole the election? no. i think it was handed to him. but again. that doesn't really matter now, does it? the world would have been a better place had it not been done that way.

world would have been a better place if Rove hadn't sent pictures of McCain's family throughout the south accusing McCain of having a black baby out of wedlock.

yes. it would have. mccain 2000 was a decent guy. i've never understood why he never fought back.

on the other hand, if that simple act caused mccain to become a rightwing loon incapable of finding his moral center, then maybe not.

Great job by Obama getting the Party of No to agree to passing critical legislation.

2010 will go down as an historic legislative year

Can we take a break from erecting a statue in every town and ask a simple question....
When is this President gonna take a look at getting people back to work?.....:eusa_whistle:

oh.. i just figured i'd have a little fun with the loons who predicted obama's early defeat. ;)

i think he already should have addressed jobs. he shouldn't have agreed to tax cuts when he got into office and should have had a huge jobs program. and i'm not sure it's his fault that corporatists are sitting on 2 trillion dollars and not hiring or lending.

aw honey... puleeze. if they believed that, scalia would have recused and they would have followed two hundred years of election law precedent.

fair enough, i don't think that rises to the level of needing to recuse one self, but perhaps

talk to me in a year and a half

I will, but you previously spoke in the terms of a win. :)

Which is why I asked you to stand to it. You didn't...

Unlike the OP's meaningless and mindless cheerleading for one side, some of us are actually interested in what's good for America.
And none of what was passed is good.
I would hardly consider it much of an accomplishment to pass Democratic-inspired legislation through an overwhelmingly Democratic Congress made up of Democrats with no electorate to face for 2 years to be signed by a Democratic president.
The fact that the stupid out of touch and high-schoolish OP sees any of that as somethingn to crow about tells me there's trouble on Planet Democrat.

So sayeth the Big Government Social Conservative. Of course, you wouldn't consider aid for 9/11 responders and DADT being repealed to be "good".

The sexist racist Rabbi doesn't pass up a chance to show he posts on USMB while wearing his white hood.

if you're a judge and a case comes before you which will affect the employment opportunities of one of your good buddies, what do you think you'd be required to do?
