Most of the deaths during his rule were due to the famine of 1959-62 (My wife lived through that as a baby), which had more to do with ecological disasters and poor policy than outright malice. The Cultural Revolution of 1968 wasn't really about public sector employees; it was just youth going crazy, as it did during most of the world at that time.

If you want to hold Mao responsible for the Great Leap Forward Famine, then you need to hold Trump accountable for Covid.

Now, on to the claim that public sector employees were Hitler's minions. Not entirely accurate, as most of them were conscripts, not employees. But it sounds about as mature as a ten-year-old who doesn't want to eat his broccoli pointing out that Hitler was a vegetarian.
