It's former city bus that somehow got abandoned in the wilds of Alaska and attracted first one self-styled "eco-warrior" who managed to perish whist trying to prove something to somebody. Unkown what or to whom.
The linked article tells the stories of several who aped the original nimrod and how they maimed themselves and cost rescuers dearly.

The famed "Magic Bus" on the Stampede Trail near Healy has been removed by the state of Alaska, according to the mayor of the Denali Borough.
