Dayyyyum. 517,000 jobs created in January, crushing estimates, as unemployment rate hit 53-year low

Sorry about that. the "10" should not have been there...

2,702,000 more.

Feb 2020 152,371,000 total employed.
Jan 2023 155,073,000 total employed.
are second jobs in the totals or not? do you know? do you care? or are you simply posting the propaganda that your masters tell you to post?

how many now working second jobs are in that total? i.e. counted twice. figures don't lie, but liars figure, I have explained that to you several times already.

People working two or more jobs would not be counted twice.

The percent of people working multiple jobs is lower now than most of the Trump years.

you claimed it proves that second jobs are not included in the job totals, that chart does not in any way prove that. It does prove that a lot of people work second jobs in order to make ends meet. what else ya got?

The chart was not supporting that part of the claim, just showing the percent of people working two jobs is down from the end of the Trump admin.

Why were so many people working two jobs under Trump? Was that his fault as well?

The Total employed is not counting jobs, but people with a job. Whether they have one job or 100 they are still just one person.

I could be wrong about this, but I believe people with multiple jobs are counted multiple times with payroll data. Payroll data counts jobs (minus farm jobs); household data counts people with jobs.

Again, fact check your claims.

It's currently 5.0%

It was above 5.0% in just 15 of Trump's 48 months in office.

The total employed number does not count payroll data, but people who claim to have worked in the last week.

Employed

In the Current Population Survey (CPS), people are classified as employed if, during the survey reference week, they meet any of the following criteria:

  1. worked at least 1 hour as a paid employee (see wage and salary workers)

  2. worked at least 1 hour in their own business, profession, trade, or farm (see self-employed)

  3. were temporarily absent from their job, business, or farm, whether or not they were paid for the time off (see with a job, not at work)

  4. worked without pay for a minimum of 15 hours in a business or farm owned by a member of their family (see unpaid family workers)
For criteria 1 and 2, the work must be for pay or profit; that is, the individual receives a wage or salary, profits or fees, or payment in kind (such as housing, meals, or supplies received in place of cash wages). For the self-employed, this includes those who intended to earn a profit but whose business or farm produced a loss. See the definition of self-employed for further details.

Each employed person is counted only once in aggregate employment statistics from the CPS, even if they hold more than one job.

The following are not considered employment in the CPS.

  • volunteer work
  • unpaid internships
  • unpaid training programs
  • training programs not sponsored by an employer, even if the trainee receives a public assistance payment for attending
  • National Guard or Reserve duty (weekend or summer training)
  • ownership in a business or farm solely for investment purposes, with no participation in its management or operation
  • jury duty
  • work around one's home such as cleaning, painting, repairing, or other housework or home improvement project

Yes, that's CPS data, which as I pointed out, counts people with jobs for employment statistics.

But the employment figures you posted earlier were from CES data, which counts jobs, not people.

You're conflating the two survey methods.

I poste two different sets of figures, one total employed and one percent of multiple job holders

The total employed comes from the CES and the total working multiple jobs comes from the CPS

I get that, but earlier you posted CES data and claimed it doesn't reflect people with multiple jobs. But it's CPS data which doesn't reflect multiple jobs by the same individual.

When our political opposites start believing like you do, we're in trouble. I see why guys like you go to Nancy Pelosi's house. You've lost touch with reality.
Good grief... ROTFLMBO 🤣🤣

Now that was a huge stretch... One Satan Grammy coming up ...

Because they could keep more of their earnings... Duh.

No you are an idiot and an extremist. I'm not. I have normal conversations and relationships with Republicans in the real world.

You NAZI's live your lives just as angry as you are here on USMB. Here I'm a atheist, socialist, feminist, liberal. In real life I am a god fearing capitalist white man who enjoys the same white privilege you do.
