Even when shooters have not posted a manifesto, the media hunts down motives and ideology of any social media to assess intent. If the shooter has a Confederate Flag or praises Trump, they are all over it. When they find that the shooter worked on Bernie Sanders campaign, they move on.

While there is a difference, it’s not vast. Further, why the need to ignore it? All the news that fits the narrative.
