we have 2 cases, and the facts are that a black man openly stabbed to death another black man over a fist fight and wasn't charged, we have a white man that stopped a black man from attacking other people after he made threats, and the man was still alive when police arrived, and he WAS charged.

You didn't read my post then. I explained I used to train in Wing Chun, close range aggressive fighting and a large part of the training is all about avoiding an altercation when there's some prospect of calming the situation down.

This is not just to protect the violent aggressor but also yourself, even a well trained fighter can slip, trip and then die from head kicks. I do not dispute that violence is sometimes necessary nor do I dispute that verbal threats are sometimes enough to justify violence.
