Can anyone confirm this? What broader implications does it have?

I always said, Trumps policies would help everyone, especially Black and Hispanics who want to compete against Americans, not illegal immigrants, and, who want manufacturing jobs in USA not China or Mexico.

Tonight, Republican Dan Bishop won Cumberland County, North Carolina—a county with a 35% black population, by .3% Donald Trump lost Cumberland County in 2016 by over 20,000 votes Tonight Republicans won it back. Black America is waking up This is HISTORIC RT!

Apparently the polls that had Bishop down by 17 points weren't that accurate. Either Trump's visit to N.C. had a tremendous impact or the polls were intentionally skewed (or a little bit of both).

There were no polls that had Bishop down by 17

This is interesting because of the constant mantra that Trump and Republicans/conservatives are racist bigots.

If republicans got 90% of the black vote, would that prove that republicans are racist against blacks and put them on the republican plantation??

Ok, I'll move to hijack thread because it NEEDS saving, just like a Liberty U Strumpet needs Falwell, Jr to lay hands on her (-:

But the real story is Bishop survived in a Dist Trump carried by 12% because he actually increased the gop share of the rural vote. Trump's path to victory is more along the lines of losing the popular vote by 5% but wining the EV.

In 2016 127,000 people voted in this county. In the past special election 15,000 voted...because the 9th district only covers a small part of the county, not all of it. The part it covers was gerrymandered to leave out parts of Fayetteville, moving the majority of black voters to a different district.
