Donald “Trump's values are hostile to conservatism,” the editorial board wrote. “He plays on fear — exploiting base instincts of xenophobia, racism and misogyny — to bring out the worst in all of us, rather than the best. His serial shifts on fundamental issues reveal an astounding absence of preparedness. And his improvisational insults and midnight tweets exhibit a dangerous lack of judgment and impulse control.”

DMN has become a liberal rag in the last 8 years.

Trump’s ‘values’ are hostile to what it is to be American.

Trump is simply too ignorant and dangerous and not qualified to run this Nation,

and they chose Country over party, for our Nation's sake. :D

The DMN gave good reasons, and its lack of endorsement will hurt Comrade Donald in the Metroplex.

The Dallas Morning News became part of the story yesterday when they announced that they would endorse a Democrat for President for the first time in 75 years. Their editorial is a fairly obvious recitation of the reasons that Donald Trump is manifestly unfit to serve as President, but the fact that the DMN editorial board saw fit to actually endorse Hillary Clinton, as opposed to merely endorsing Gary Johnson or some other third party candidate, is evidence that a growing number of conservatives find themselves obligated to choose actual sides in the Trump v. Hillary battle.

....

Trump offers absolutely nothing to people who actually believe in conservative principles. On the rare occasion that he actually espouses a conservative principle, he inevitably changes course within a week, or else his conversion to conservatism absolutely defies belief by any marginally credulous person.

After a year of fear-mongering and scapegoating and making a fool of himself on Twitter, Donald Trump formally became the Republican Party’s standard-bearer at the Republican National Convention — and in the process, the billionaire forced out numerous party elders, opened the doors to white supremacists and conspiracy theorists and demonstrated once and for all the Grand Old Party is no longer a party of traditional conservatism, but right-wing extremism.
