Trump wanted to reverse the results, not because they were flawed but because he wanted to win. Trump challenged the results in court but lost every time. Those challenges were fine. He's allowed to do so. If he had stopped there, it would not have been unconstitutional. There's no downside to lying to the media. Most Trump supporters didn't realize they were being told one thing in the media and a completely different thing was being told to courts. Trump supporters consume a lot of media. They don't look at court documents.
