Crime drops as Trump removes illegals

There are lots of studies showing crime escalation was not related to protests. It started spiking earlier and continued well after and happened in states that are Red at higher levels.

You guys cant take the fact that life is 2Xs safer in blue areas than red areas so you try to distract with a few outliers, ignore your own outliers, and most especially ignore the overall data that red states are death traps.
It’s not just Baltimore! Turns out that the cities with the highest crime rates are nearly all run by Democrats.
The homicide rate in Baltimore has exploded since the tragic death of Freddie Gray on April 19, with some 38 homicides in May alone—the deadliest month in 15 years, according to Time.

Gray’s death brought a lot of attention to the fact that Baltimore has been run by Democrats for years, including former Mayor Martin O’Malley, now a presidential candidate.

And while Baltimore may be getting a lot of public (and unwanted) attention for its violent crimes, there are cities that are much worse—or at least they were before Baltimore’s new killing spree.

And nearly all of those cities have Democratic mayors.

Neighborhood Scout has tracked the cities with the highest violent crime rates for several years. The organization explains its process by saying: “Our research reveals the 100 most dangerous cities in America with 25,000 or more people, based on the number of violent crimes per 1,000 residents. Violent crimes include murder, rape, armed robbery, and aggravated assault. Data used for this research are 1) the number of violent crimes reported to the FBI to have occurred in each city, and 2) the population of each city.”

Of the top 20 cities on Neighborhood Scout’s 2015 list, two of the mayors (Atlantic City, NJ, and Myrtle Beach, SC) are Republicans, though the mayor of Atlantic City was only elected in 2013, taking office in 2014. Prior to his election, the mayor’s office was held by a string of Democrats.

Two mayors (Saginaw, MI, and Rockford, IL) appear to be independents, or did not make party affiliation part of their campaign—which isn’t unusual, since city and county elections are often run on a non-partisan basis.

But 16 of the 20 highest violent crime cities have Democratic mayors. And if you’re wondering, Baltimore comes in at 18 on the Neighborhood Scout list—though it could be in for a move up on the 2016 list.

The question that arises is whether cities with high crime rates tend to vote for Democratic mayors, or do the policies and practices of Democratic mayors tend to lead to high crime rates?

Given how Baltimore officials handled the Freddie Gray crisis, one is tempted to say that at least in that city the policies drove the crime.

Only when comoared to the worst democrat cities
This brief reviews crime trends in New York City using data from the Council on Criminal Justice Mid-Year 2025 Crime Trends report, released in July 2025. That report examined offenses recorded by law enforcement in New York City, San Francisco, Baltimore, Washington, Chicago, Memphis, and 36 other American cities from 2018 through June 2025.

From 2019 to 2025, several categories of crime increased in New York City, though rates for each offense remained low compared with other large cities, with the exception of robbery.

  • Homicides in the first half of 2025 were 3% higher than during the same period in 2019, but New York City’s homicide rate was lower than all but three cities in the sample.
  • Robbery and larceny also rose, by 17% and 13%, respectively. New York City’s robbery rate was in the top third of cities in the sample, while its larceny rate was in the bottom third.
  • Motor vehicle theft showed the steepest increase, up 191% from 2019 to 2025, consistent with national
Ok genius. Or should I say “genius”. The 2025 NYC murder rate finished at an ALL TIME LOW over the last 70 years of modern records.

Your link basically says NYC is about as safe a city as there is.

Blue cities and blue states are the safest cities and state in America on average. There are some that are high and some that are low. On average you are more likely to die in a red state.

Outlier. Some are high, some are low. Just like red cities and states. But on average you are MUCH safer in blue cities and states than red.

Math isn’t your strong suit. Lots of blue cities make you a blue state and safe. Very few blue cities makes you.. wait…. That doesn’t work…fewer blue cities make you more dangerous. It’s red states and red areas. You are more likely to die in rural Alabama than NYC.

The 5 worst crime-ridden cities are all blue: Memphis, Oakland, St. Louis, Baltimore, and Detroit. This is due to a combination of high percentages of blacks (who have a high crime rate) and Democrat policies of being soft-on-criminals, who release thugs to reoffend.

Trump spiked blue-collar crime by ignoring Covid until it was too late; now he's taking credit for cleaning up his own mess (again):

Why Crime Rates Are Falling Across the U.S.

"Data shows that the steady drop in crime recorded in the last three years follows a widespread spike in rates during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"'When COVID hit, and the world shut down, we basically turned off the water with respect to prevention and intervention strategies,' says Alexis Piquero, the former director of the Bureau of Justice Statistics appointed by President Joe Biden and a professor of criminology at the University of Miami.

"'And then it took about two or three years for the water to be turned back on. Then it starts dripping a little bit. And now ‘25 and into ‘26 the water now is at full blast.'"

Literally insane. You trust numbers when you like them and dont when you dont. You are not a rational actor. You are just an actor playing your part. An NPC.

It's rational to notice that these "errors" always go ONE WAY.

It's irrational to play dumb and pretend to NOT notice the pattern.

Can you name one time that a government agency made a mistake or error in reporting numbers, that made Democrats, or their policies look BAD?

The answer to that question has nothing to do with the correspondence between the statements Alexis Piquero made and reality:

Here are the first two sentences of those claims; can you reveal any falsehoods in their claims?

"Data shows, however, that there has been a steady decline in crime since a spike during the COVID-19 pandemic, and that rates were already falling before Trump returned to office—including in cities the Administration has targeted in its immigration and crime crackdowns.

"Experts tell TIME that the drop recorded last year is part of this larger trend and can be attributed to a kaleidoscope of factors, none of which can singularly or definitively account for the decline."
