TRUMP, BARR AND ESPER WARN OF MEXICAN DRUG CARTEL TRAFFICKING DURING CORONAVIRUS TASK FORCE BRIEFING

President Donald Trump opened Wednesday's coronavirus White House task force briefing by issuing a warning about Mexican drug cartels. "America continues to wage all out war to defeat the virus, this horrible, horrible virus, you see how terrible it is especially if you look at the numbers from yesterday," Trump said after taking the podium. "In this time of need, I know that every American will do their patriotic duty and help us achieve a total victory." The president stood alongside Defense Secretary Mark Esper, Attorney General William Barr and several other officials, none of whom were situated six feet apart despite the federal government's social distancing guidelines.

Rejecting 6-6-6...

As governments and nations focus on the coronavirus, there's a growing threat that cartels, criminals and other malign actors will try to exploit the situation for their own gain and we must not let that happen," he continued. "Today the United States is launching enhanced counternarcotics operations in the Western hemisphere to protect the American people from the deadly scourge of illegal narcotics."

BREAKING: Trump Launches Massive All Out Military Offensive On Drug Cartels

By Ryan SaavedraDailyWire.com

quote:
We must not let the drug cartels exploit the pandemic to threaten American lives,” Trump continued. “In cooperation with the 22 partner nations, the U.S. Southern Command will increase surveillance, disruption, and seizures of drug shipments, and provide additional support for eradication efforts that are going on right now at a record pace.” “We are deploying additional Navy destroyers, combat ships, aircraft and helicopters, Coast Guard cutters and Air Force surveillance aircraft, doubling the capabilities in the region,” Trump continued. “Very importantly, our forces are fully equipped with personnel protective equipment, and we have taken additional safety measures to ensure that our troops remain healthy.”
'Bout time. Why did he wait until the nation was in a crisis?
You would also need to ask Obama why he didn't in 8 years. or Bush before him. or Clinton before him....or...

These cartels have decimated families and communities. Making hand over fist without regard for anyones life. They've been sending their poisons in for a long time, though it's always just a band aid solution unfortunately as long as your border is so porous.
The drug war is responsible for decimating families and communities. It's time for it to end. Buying drugs is voluntary. The idea that you get to determine how other people live is utterly fascist.

My bet is; we’ll lay off when drug users stop being a public liability as a result of their usage.

Drug warriors are the biggest hypocrites in the universe. They will sit there with a beer or a margarita in their hand while they puff on a cigarette and then anounce that people who do drugs should be locked away for their entire lives. It's obvious such statements are not motivated by concern about the welfare of drug users. They are motivated by hatred.

Sure why not because the war on drugs has been a resounding success and a great use of money for the last four decades.
Jeez...;)
the war on drugs has been more lip service than anything. sounds good, makes a few headlines, people forget and go back to smoking their weed or whatever their thing is.

if we're doing to do it, it would need to be a dedicated "for real" push and we also have to ask, will mexico help. if not, do you even know who you're really fighting? columbia? other countries where the drugs are coming from?

i do wonder how much we've spent overall. the only effect i've ever seen is about 16 years ago (give or take) weed was very hard to find because they *did* clamp down on it. that was about 6 months and it just started being available again. now that it's legal in many states, i doubt that's the push to get that across.

have to be honest, i've not read up much on where we are, what is commonly smuggled over here, and what the cartels are doing lately. just seems out of the blue to attack the drug lords in the middle of a pandemic. would need to read more as to why and the overall stance.

headlines simply isn't enough. :)

The problem is; it’s always the drug users telling us drugs are cool and that drugs should be legal...I’d bet all pedophiliacs would tell us that pedophilia should be legal...I bet all tax evaders believe tax evasion should be legal...etc etc
Drug users need new figure-heads...dump this guy.

And recruit this guy...You need him to tell us how horrible it is to mitigate drug usage.

I've watched opiate addiction ruin many lives--not just their own but their families,
I've watched alcohol kill more people than the flu, new old or combimed and lets not even talk about heart attacks or drunk drivers or just plain stupid people being stupid- however, that doesn't address what I said.

ALL fed agencies do the same damn thing, publicly speaking, they make absurd statements to insure they get more money in their budget.
As for your willfully blind worship of the fed godvernment you might try reading not approved sources for information since approved sources are merely propaganda tools-

Interestingly enough, that is kinda how the war on drugs got started. There was an agent named Anslinger who was afraid of budget cuts and came up with the "Reefer Madness" propaganda, which he then showed to Congress, and he got them to make the plant illegal.

And the reason Anslinger picked marijuana was because he hated black and brown people, who happened to be the main users at the time.

He went to Hurst who owned timberland and didn't want hemp paper to compete with wood paper, and went to DuPont who was just starting to get some really good research in on plastics and what could be done with crude oil. They didn't want the competition from hemp oil, so they agreed to bankroll Anslinger's production of the film.

The reason marijuana was made illegal in the first place? Greed and racism.

I'm certain you can link us to such data
Sure can!

66% support legal marijuana:

12% use marijuana:

I did my part. Now do yours and admit you made something up.

So Pres. Trump proves he can walk and chew gum at the same time.

Recently, the handlers caught Sleepy Joe trying to text and wipe at the same time and the result was a hazmat disaster.
