This is uncanny. Before coming back to USMB to post, more information on Brook Jackson's troponin question posted earlier in this thread, was found.

This morning's investigation made the spastin connection to troponin. SARS2 spike furin sequence is RARR. Spastin sequence for the bat, Rhinolophus ferrumequinum, is RARR.

There is no published spastin sequence for any other Rhinolophus bat species, including R. affinis RaTG13 virus from the Mojiang copper mine.

The troponin connection to spastin is the spasmoneme of a ciliate, Carchesium. The important linking report is from Japan:
