Copycat Kamala

Thats the headline and as far as it goes, its a dumb idea from both candidates.

What is hilarious is that according to republicans, those who receive tips--those in the 47% of the population if you remember the Romney line....don’t pay federal taxes at all. So it’s curious how a tax break would help them to start with.

Below the fold, Kamala is talking about raising the minimum wage for tipped employees so they have a guaranteed income (as long as they are employed) and aren’t left to the whims of how their customers feel about their service. Trump isn’t.

I’d actually commit voter fraud and vote twice (at least) for any candidate who can get rid of gratuities for cruise passengers. Its crazy.

Because the House Republicans won't pass it.

I'd rather she raise the minimum wage for servers, who have a lower mimum wage. That would be better for servers than no taxing their tips.
That's what Executive Orders are for in this day and age. No, Kamala just won't do it, she can easily convince Joe to issue one. She just won't.

Both candidates trying to buy votes. Pathetic.
When it comes to Harris, it’s worse. She could use her position now to start pushing the policies she is selling to voters vs making it conditional upon her getting elected. Actions not Words might resonate more with voters.

Bullshit, she was going after the tips. Until she saw how popular not going after them. But she will, because she is a liar.

Okay, if that's what you need to tell yourself...

It's a pretty silly argument, because no one is actually reporting their tips, and the IRS by and large couldn't be bothered.

This is no longer true with more and more people paying with their cards as opposed to cash.

No; just Kamalalala.

Trump is simply proposing something for the portion of the working people who rely on tips for service as a way of making some kind of living. It’s called genuine empathy.

Any tip on a charge card is taxed.

It's different when Trump does it!

With all the power she has at her fingertips right now... she wants to...

Copy Trump? Are you kidding me? She could already be doing what Trump is proposing, but no, see insists on Kammunist Kamalanomics.

Listen here you little s**t. You only do that assuming the American votership are stupid and ignorant. You have no intention of being a servant to the people, just a walking word salad that would put the Wendy's Super Bars of old to shame.

Why don't you just do it now?

This is what's so hilarious about her. Everything she says she's going to do, why isn't she doing it right now?

It was Ron Paul's idea in 2007.

Where did the idea come from?

While Trump blamed Harris for copying his idea to remove the income tax on tips, the concept came years before he entered politics. Republican Rep. Ron Paul in 2007 introduced legislation in the House to exempt tips from both federal income and payroll taxes, which didn't end up going anywhere.

The idea has recently been revived in Congress after Republican Sen. Ted Cruz introduced a bill exempting tips from federal income tax. It has received bipartisan support from Nevada Democrats, Sens. Jacky Rosen and Catherine Cortez Masto.

It's different when Trump does it!
Over generalization. But yes.

If person K does an act motivated solely by a desire to pander, that act is different (motive wise) than if person D doesn’t to help others.

You pay tax on SS as income
I don't. The standard deduction completely wipes out the need to pay anything. That would apply more to people who collect SS, and work a job.
