Consumer Confidence number 2nd lowest ever.

Remember Republicans used to be for lower taxes but now they are costing us all more through tariffs. They wanted government to get out of our business but now they are so involved. Remember states rights? Now they are invading states with the military. They used to know Russia was the enemy.

This is what I've been telling people for years. Parties change. This Republican party is nothing like the Republican party who passed Civil Rights, for example.
Republicans still are for lower taxes. Tariffs really have only slightly kicked in. Trump removes 30 regulations for 1 put there by Republicans. Trump sent Guard to DC to clean up the city and it is marvelous. To LA for a short time since Gavin Newsome exposed LA to massive crime by ignoring the riots. Democrats have shoved themselves hard core left. Republicans did not follow.

Countries not charging us tariffs were not charged tariffs by Trump. Also, steel and copper were tariffed yet I don't recall citizens on this forum saying they buy steel and copper in large quantities.
That's too simple

It is marvelous? Do you think Trump solved crime in DC? Or did crime just stop the 1 or 2 days the troops were in town? You're easily pleased.

You have been brainwashed to HATE taxes but LOVE tariffs. What's the diff really? Oh, and tariffs have only begun to kick in. Companies are going to pass the increased costs on to you dummy. It's absolutely happening.

Tariffs/taxes have only slightly kicked in. Right. So far. Just wait.

Think about this. How did Trump have a half decent economy the first half of this year? We all ran out and purchased things before the tariffs kicked in. He scared us into stocking up. What happens when my medicine runs out in a month?

Trump's massive 50% India tariffs kick in

We get goods like pharmaceuticals, gems and jewelry, textiles, and agricultural products (such as spices, tea, and rice) from India, which is a global leader in their production.

Get back to us when we have a really bad year like we did in 2022 under Joe Biden.

debating policy is one thing. Making up facts is another. Fact is Trump’s first term was good for the markets. Four years with a good net growth.

And before Trump took off during his first term people like you were saying “the world would come to an end, the market would crash.”

Going back to Trump’s first term the worst year we had by far was 2022 under Joe Biden.

And so far Trumps second term has been good as well.

China is the one country we/Trump should have taken on. Not the entire world. What Trump did was stupid. But it's going to bring in a lot of money for him to spend on ballrooms or retrofitting that plane he got as a gift. Tariffs will bring in a lot of money for them to spend. Trump had to raise tariffs to make up fo

This is usually what happens in these topics. Bounce around to different conversations. It’s very simple. What is the S&P 500 doing now? Is it up or down on the year ?? It’s up this year 10+ %

It doesn’t matter what you say or what you claim will affect the markets. The only thing that matters are the numbers.

The Consumer Confidence number was released today at 10:00am and it was the 2nd lowest EVER. Last month's number was 52.2 and it was expected this month's number was going to be better (expected at 55) but it came in at 50.8.

United States Michigan Consumer Sentiment

The University of Michigan consumer sentiment for the US dropped sharply to 50.8 in May 2025, down from 52.2 in April and well below market expectations of 53.4, according to preliminary estimates. This marks the fifth consecutive monthly decline, the lowest reading since June 2022, and the second-lowest on record, as mounting inflation expectations and renewed concerns over tariffs continue to weigh on sentiment. Both the current conditions index (57.6 vs 59.8) and expectations gauge (46.5 vs 47.3) worsened. Current assessments of personal finances sank nearly 10% on the basis of weakening incomes. Tariffs were spontaneously mentioned by nearly three-quarters of consumers, up from almost 60% in April; uncertainty over trade policy continues to dominate consumers’ thinking about the economy.

In June 2025, the number is up to 60.7
Damn!
That's up nearly 10 points in one month!

Both the current conditions index (57.6 vs 59.8) and expectations gauge (46.5 vs 47.3) worsened.

Current conditions in June are up to 64.8
Current expectations in June are up to 58.1

Maybe the Michigan numbers were so low because their governor sucks so much?

The stock market did great under Biden. You said that only proved we were the party for the rich. We showed you that America's wealth rose like never before under Biden because of home values and 401K's. You said "what about uneducated blue collar workers who can't afford groceries or rent.

Democratic administrations since 1989 oversaw 50 million net jobs created, compared to 1 million under Republican administrations

From 2019 to 2022, the median net worth of American families jumped 37% to $192,900, after adjusting for inflation. It’s the largest increase ever recorded by the federal Survey of Consumer Finances

I could go on and on.

Union workers won big under Biden too. They got big raises. Casino, auto, dock workers, actors, healthcare workers, amazon, UPS workers.

You focused on inflation. Now, Trump is causing "inflation" in the form of tariffs. And the Feds warn if Trump gets his way and makes them lower interest rates, inflation is coming back. Wake up stupid.

Yeah, the dems are great on the economy.
That's why Trump beat Hillary and Kamala.

If the economy was booming we wouldn't be seeing these headlines

August consumer confidence dips in US with jobs, tariffs and high prices driving most unease

Consumer confidence down in August amid rising worries about jobs, recession

Donald Trump Gets Economic Warning Sign From Consumers

This is why Trump wants to give us fake jobs numbers. Because fake/positive news will keep consumer confidence up. But should consumers be confident if things aren't truly going well?

Let's not forget Trump knew how deadly Covid was going to be and he hid the bad news from us. He didn't want it to hurt his economy. Consumer confidence. So we know Trump will hide the truth from us thinking we can't handle it. Or that it will hurt his numbers.

This comment from Trump debunks your theory

"You know, you look at the country then. The economy was doing great. Look at what happened during the Clinton years. I mean we had no war, the economy was doing great, everybody was happy. A lot of people hated him because they were jealous as hell,’" Trump said.

So why did Bush beat Gore? The economy was great. So why did stupid American voters elect Bush?

Yea, you guys love to just brush off how great he was on some internet bubble. Suck a dick loser.

We can't ask you to be honest. Let's ask Trump before he decided to run as a Republican what he thinks about Trump and jealous people like you.

"I think Bill Clinton was a great president,’"

I'm just as afraid as you were last year when you were concerned for uneducated blue collar workers who couldn't afford the inflation that was occurring. Remember that debate?

You don't seem to be afraid for those people anymore. You don't seem to be afraid of the grocery bill you are seeing. Well just wait. When Trump's tariffs kick in 100% and then he gets the feds to lower interest rates and that causes inflation, will you be afraid then? No? Why not?

Americans are stupid.
If inflation comes, it comes. The tariffs are needed to level the playing field. And, as a bonus, the borders is closed and men aren't competing against women.

Would you rather we had voted for Harris?
