Consumer Confidence number 2nd lowest ever.

How's the genocide in South Africa going? I mean white genocide?

I don't call it genocide, as you would see in a zone 1 thread, but it is a determined effort by the current ANC led government to force out white farmers and take the land for either free or for pennies on the dollar.

We saw it before in Zimbabwe, so stop pretending it isn't happening in SA.

This coming from someone falling for the Dem shit, like Biden was not addled, and women can have penises.

More opinion parading as fact for the rest of it.
Oh you want facts?

Currently the country has 12.8 million manufacturing jobs, 6.7 million fewer than its 1979 peak. In order to bring the sector back to its golden era, employment would need to rise by roughly 22 million jobs. However, there are only 7.2 million unemployed people in the U.S.

Who's gonna do all those jobs? Oh yea, robots!

Finally some numbers, but you assume success is bringing them all back to the previous levels, instead of halting the trend and returning some of these jobs back here, which would be actual success.

People have to manage, repair and work with the automation, why not here?

martybegan is babbling.

The investment in time will not be repaid with the results you want. It wastes resources, money, and effort.

Oh some things I absolutely want to bring back home. Pick and choose. I wouldn't have started a trade war with the entire world. He bluffed and now he's getting called.

I read this on reddit

The biggest benefactors of tariffs, in theory, are domestic laborers and manufacturers who otherwise need to compete with overseas firms. By putting an additional cost on what's coming into the country, it incentivizes local production to build out and create goods at home. This is why the labor unions aren't too upset about this; they see this as a way to protect union jobs and raise prices that will, again in theory, go to them.

This is why Biden placed heavy tariffs on various electric vehicle parts and manufacturing and on things like batteries and solar panels. In part, he was trying to spur interest in domestic manufacturers and push consumer demand away from imports. It's why you can't get the dirt cheap Chinese EVs in the United States right now, because the 100% tariffs put in place make them no more affordable than a basic Tesla or Ford.

There is little thought put into the Trump tariffs - they're all-encompassing and are founded on a clear misunderstanding of how trade deficits work. However, the theoretical economic benefit, on paper, is very clear-cut and is the reason Trump's putting them in place: he thinks the United States is getting "ripped off" by overseas goods and labor, and wants to incentivize the investment at home, instead.

So another opinion from another hack.

Just because you don't understand what he is trying to do, he has to be wrong about it....

And how's all that EV shit going so far?

Globalist? Have you seen who's a member of Don Jr.'s influence peddling club? It's all globalists and foreigners. Trump's a globalist. He now has a globalist jet.

Another term you don't understand with your room temperature IQ and lefty programmed thinking.

Oh shut up. Last year we gave you the facts. America had the greatest economy in the world. The only ones struggling were uneducated blue collar workers who didn't belong to unions. We showed you FACT that most of us got inflation raises. Didn't you?

And what did you say? You gave no facts. You said "The economy might be booming but it doesn't FEEL like it.

China is selling EV's all over the world. We are missing out. Elon used to sell a lot but his sales dropped 71%. Not because EV's are no good. It's because he's no good.

Those aren't facts. Those are more opinions you parade as facts.

Here's another analysis, but feel free to denigrate it because it doesn't fit your pre-made conclusions.

Another lie, Elon still leads EV sales in the US, no one wants the other ones far more than they don't want Teslas.

When Trump started his trade war with the entire world, I said this over and over again. Now finally the Adminstration has caught up

  • Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent tried to put a finer point on the Trump administration’s goals in its tariff talks with Beijing. While the U.S. wants to avoid a “generalized decoupling” from China, it still seeks to decouple for “strategic necessities,” he told CNBC. Meanwhile, the U.S. slashed its duties on China to 30% from 145%, and China cut its retaliatory levies to 10% from 125%.
The world’s two largest economies shouldn’t totally cut themselves off from each other, but the U.S. still needs self-sufficiency in key areas, according to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.

I don't see Tesler's sales coming back. I would never buy anything that man sells. I didn't feel that way until Feb 2025

And in your addled head this equates Trump "giving up", right?
