Conservatives Expose Their Hypocrisy With Lack of Criticism of Trump Executive Orders

What's wrong with executive orders? I get executive orders from the CEO of the company I work for all the time. Executive orders are nothing more than memos from the Executive (President) to his departments on how to carry out his policies. That's how it works. And the President's policies are exactly what the Executive Branch is supposed to be carrying out.

The problem isn't executive orders; the problem is when a president issues illegal, unconstitutional, executive orders like creating DACA. If you think that one of Trump's executive orders is illegal or unconstitutional, let's talk about that but the issuing of executive orders is expected and even desirable.

President after president, the Executive Branch has been consolidating power through the use of Executive Orders. One of the most egregious examples of this was President Obama writing an EO on DACA because he couldn't get it through Congress. He was justifiably criticized by the right, but today, where is the right when Trump stepped up and said, "Hold my beer?" The EOs he signed yesterday are grossly unconstitutional. The power of the purse lies explicitly with the Congress. The president has no authority whatsoever to unilaterally decide how are we are taxed and how that money is spent. It is irrelevant that Congress couldn't reach a deal. We have three branches of government for a reason. We're not a monarchy. It's not supposed to be easy to make law and policy that impacts 300 million people and in some cases the entire world. Where are the cries of small government from the right? This is a monumental abuse of his power in order to help aid his reelection bid and aside from Republican Senator Ben Sasse of Nebraska, the Republican Party has been silent on this Constitutional onslaught. If these orders are not overturned by the courts, the right's passiveness is laying another stone towards enabling the Office of President to become a benevolent dictatorship in the future.

"The president has no authority whatsoever to unilaterally decide how are we are taxed and how that money is spent."

Almost everything Congress has done under the Biden Virus has been Unconstitutional. Government shutting down the economy was Unconstitutional. The Biden Virus spending bills were Unconstitutional.

To suddenly bring up responding to a pandemic only to Trump is completely arbitrary and completely partisan. Either the government can basically suspend the Constitution due to that pandemics aren't covered under the Constitution or it can't. But get off the Trump TDS thing and either criticize all of them or get over it. But don't be ridiculous and ignore it until, orange man bad, get him

I will however enjoy the zero percent student loans as I pay them off, reminds me of the 1%-2% loans during Raygun.
From what I have read of your posts your "edumacation" was wasted
No education is wasted. Not even the time I spent learning three MOS's in the army. I have enjoyed every moment of my triple major in colleges also. Humans spend their entire life learning, next up is death another learning experience.

Biden attacked Trump for being a racist when he tried to stop the spread of the virus from China and again when he tried to stop the spread of the virus from Europe. You break it, you bought it

First, for all the bitching about President Obama and his executive orders he ranks number 16th in the number of EOs that came from his administration.

Reagan, W., Clinton, Calvin Coolidge, and Warren Harding among others issued more.

Trump is already ranked 26th and he is still only in his first (and hopefully only) term.

EOs are to have a constitutional basis. The reason so many of Trump's EOs are overturned is because he usurps on Congressional constitutional prerogatives.

Blind Trumpers can't seem to distinguish that EOs issued by Trump are of a different sort than issued by other presidents.

Trump's latest EOs trample upon Congress' tax and spending powers.

The OP is right.

It is all about hypocrisy. Conservative small government or so-called Constitutional conservative hypocrisy anyway,

But as I said many times, Trump supporters are anything but conservative.

To call Trumpers conservative is to defame real conservatives.
All of those EO's. What were the affect of them all? How simple or how complicated? How cheap or how expensive? Rights loss or rights gained? Sexual agendas or traditional living? Changing the educational system or keeping it the same? Removing previous EO's with new ones and having activist judges get involved to nullify the new EO's? We can go on. You young people will have to make choices. And they can have dangerous and profound affects on a tranquil to violent society.

Republicans will dishonestly turn it into a smear campaign of how Democrats want Americans to starve
Like throwing granny off a cliff or feeding her dog food while raiding her social security?

Karma is a bitch
Democrats wanted to give away even more. Really the mean old senate is the big loser.
Say what you will but I have this philosophy.

YOU BREAK IT YOU PAY FOR IT.

The government definitely broke our economy so they gotta pay.
Yes the government broke the economy following those trump guidelines for closing. And well those guidelines were clearly not very good as we still are a mess.

I don't care for governing by EO no matter if it is a Republican or Democrat doing it but shouldn't the bitching be aimed at Congress instead of the President? Much if not all of the EO Presidents issue are things that Congress should have addressed through legislation but they never do. It is the failure of both sides to work together and find common ground on anything that creates these situations.

A few things.

One, can you show me your disgust when obama did it?

Two, can we show the precise list of the executive orders obama signed as compared to what Trump signed?

I think obama signed 270 or so executive orders. Want to go over them? I think clinton signed over 300, W signed like 290.

Pretty certain Presidents have been doing this for a while.....now.

Harry Truman signed over 900 executive orders. Did you know that Taz? Yes or no?

FDR signed over 3000. Did you know that Taz? Yes or no?

Here you go Taz....

Hey Taz, want to discuss what the executive orders were comparatively?

Hey Taz, get an education.

Weak, accidental tu quoque point by someone who is used to hearing them all day on right wing media, but doesn't know them by their name.

What bearing would this have on republicans' behavior? None.
