It seems that if they think that it might in any way be a detriment to our President, they are for it. Even to the extent of cheering for the re-instatement of the old Russian and Soviet empire.

Sending troops to the Ukraine would not be in our best interest at this time. However, Putin and the Russians have opened a very large can of worms, and it will be interesting to see if Obama acts on this. Based on the Russian's actions, countries like Poland, Hungary, Romania, Czechoslovakia, Serbia, Croatia, and on and on now must feel that Russia is a direct threat to them. The US can offer up our protection if they so choose by allowing us to open military bases within their borders. All of a sudden, we could find ourselves with military bases very close to and within easy striking distance of Russia. Putin is calling Obama's hand; now it's time for Obama to play his aces.

In 2004, Tyahnybok was kicked out of former President Viktor Yushchenko's parliamentary faction for a speech calling for Ukrainians to fight against a "Muscovite-Jewish mafia" - using two highly insulting words to describe Russians and Jews - and emphasising that Ukrainians had in the past fought this threat with arms.


In 2005, he signed an open letter to Ukrainian leaders, including President Yushchenko, calling for the government to halt the "criminal activities" of "organised Jewry", which, the letter said, was spreading its influence in the country through conspiratorial organisations as the Anti-Defamation League - and which ultimately wanted to commit "genocide" against the Ukrainian people.

Well, it is quite obvious no matter what our President does, you assholes will object to it. If he were to have a way to interject our military into the situation, he is a warmonger. If he and the EU resort to sanctions and economic measures, he is weak.

Obama's next move should be to convince old Soviet Bloc countries to have the US set up military bases within their borders so that they will never have to fear Russia taking over their countries in the future. This would also send a clear message to Putin that we aren't fucking around anymore. The best thing about it is that there isn't really anything Putin could do to counteract such a move. It would most likely put an eventual end to his grip on power.

So what, you want to go to war? What business is it of America if the Russian ethnic majority of Crimea wants to return to Russia? Why should we get involved in eastern european border disputes?
