During the Cold War the only thing that kept Russia from taking over all of Europe was the fear that the US would resort to nuclear weapons to stop them. That was because, even though we were spending even more of our GDP on the military budget than we do now, there was no way we could stop them without using them, and NATO policy made it clear that we were willing to do so. Do you honestly think Obama is going to use nukes to stop Russia? Wouldn't that be the perfect way to prove how stupid it was to hand him the Nobel Peace Prize?

I have not seen even one, from a conservative or anyone else, that is "cheering for the reinstatement of the old Russian and Soviet Empire". It seems to me that it is criticism of Mr Obama that you judge to be "treason of the highest sort".

Who is cheering Soviet aggression? Only the liberals who insist that Obama has Putin right where he wants him.
Heck, Putin is a model for most libs: he suppresses negative media attention, he lavishes money on favored industries, and I'm sure if a Russian likes his doctor, he can keep his doctor.
