Congressional Budget Office says the "Big Beautiful Bill" would give to the rich and take away from the poor

1. Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good. A big step in the right direction either passes or it doesn't
That bullshit copout got us where we are today.
2 Its not Mike Johnson's fault that the Freedom Caucus and blue state Republicans are fighting over SALT
It's his fault for dragging his feet and taking all the time off when the bill wasn't anywhere near ready to go...He's a lazy asshole, to go with being a pussy.
3. Similarly poor red states don't want any Medicaid cuts.
The "Medicaid cuts" are wringing the fraud and illegals out of the system....That won't affect those who really need it.
4. Thia is one Budget, if the Freedom Caucus holds their noses and warns Mike that there will be more cuts next time, and passes this one, its a good start.
"Holding your nose" is another bullshit copout that got us into this mess...We don't have any more time for shitweasel excuses and copouts, with the debt heading for $50 trillion.

You are not that slow, Bob.

It appears you're asking about how much the wealthy contribute to the federal budget through taxes. Here's a breakdown:
1. The Rich Pay a Large Share of Federal Taxes:
  • The top 1% of earners in the US pay a significant portion of federal income taxes. For example, in 2021, they paid 45.8% of all federal income taxes.
  • The top 10% of earners also contribute a substantial amount, paying 72% of federal income taxes in 2022.
  • The top 50% of earners pay the vast majority of federal income taxes, accounting for 97.7% of the total in 2021.

A fresh analysis from the Congressional Budget Office said the tax provisions would increase the federal deficit by $3.8 trillion over the decade, while the changes to Medicaid, food stamps and other services would tally $1 trillion in reduced spending. The lowest-income households in the U.S. would see their resources drop, while the highest ones would see a boost, the CBO said.

Of course, the repubs wanted to pass the bill without the insight of the CBO. But the Dems asked for an analysis. It is no surprise the bill will be opposite of Robin Hood's venture. The repubs, as usual, are shooting themselves in the foot. If this bill passes, as it is, there will be a red bloodbath in 2026, beginning in November in Virginia. This bill, coupled with the inflation expected from trump's tariffs will seal the deal.
No wonder you are afraid of it.

JimH52 and John Edgar Slow Horses will not have to worry about paying anything.

It has been the goal of the repub party for as long as I can remember. And that is a LONG TIME. Nothing is going to change.
the current tax rate you are paying is because of the 2017 tax cuts Trump gave to ALL Americans .. if a spending bill isn't passed [with the tax cut extension] then the tax cuts will run out and ALL Americans will pay much higher taxes .. including you .. are you OK with that ?

How much money is in the bill to torture beagle puppies?

View attachment 1113742

Fauci did this….even removing the puppies vocal cords so they couldn’t whine…lefties love it because they are sick pieces of shit. Have you ever seen ONE lefty say that puppy torture is bad?

No. Because they love it. Sadistic filth.
You will not see one lefty on this board condemn this animal torture.

I don't believe any of that shitlib standard boilerplate whining and crying that you're talking about.

I'm pointing out that everything that has been promised by Trump and the MAGA fanboys is not going to be in the final bill.....You're getting shafted without grease and don't care.
well one thing out of all of this is a plus .. now both political parties are complaining about defects and future debt ! not convinced either side [especially the Dems] will do anything to cut the debt and deficit but at least now they are paying it more attention .. are we nearing a time where the politician that runs on the best way to lower our debt will be garnering the most support from both sides of the isle ? where is the breaking point ? is it 45 trillion ? 50 trillion? either way we are headed for disaster if we don't cut wasteful spending ,and balance the budget ! the US has to start paying down the debt ! it appears Trumps strategy is to grow our way out of it economically and try to cut wasteful spending .. he may or may not succeed because Congress holds the purse strings .. what's the Dems plan pay down the debt ? slow the economy by raising taxes ? no democrat has said what they want to cut other than defense spending .. the left would actually love to spend trillions more on their pet environmental and social programs .. correct me if I'm wrong .

Cool.

It’s about time.

Everyone should pay their fair share, even the poor.

Trump called for Elon to cut waste in spending. Democrats of course got pissed off.

that is a known fact .. as a matter of fact the threats against Musk and his businesses [instigated by the lefts msm and leaders] is probably the reason Musk is stepping down from DOGE leadership in a few months .. he didn't dream the hateful backlash would be so visceral and violent .. he may have honestly thought that his uncovering of fraud and waste would be appreciated by both sides .. he was wrong ..

OK, my standard answer, if they can't cut any more, is to raise taxes. These are my new tax recommendations:

1. Add a 0.2% Transaction Tax on all financial transactions. Gains about $150b a year
2. Remove Capital Gains tax break. Gains $100b a year
3. Raise the cap on SS, saves SS
4. The "break glass" option is to remove all "deductions" only allow the standard deduction, since only 7% itemize.

You okay with raising revenue?

Oh, so the people paying nothing into the system that provides their welfare aren’t going to see as much of the tax breaks on the taxes they don’t fucking pay anyway.
