Congress grills Pete Hegseth

The immigration system is broken and Republicans have been preventing any reform to it for decades.

MAGA will not ever allow an increase in low skilled immigration from central and South America. That’s absurd.
It is not the immigration system that is broken, We still have a lot of legal migrants getting in. And you are told by me hundreds of time by now that the actual law that would fix the immigrations system is the law called HR2 passed by the House but Schumer blocked it from passing to favor the bogus law in the Senate. The Senate Bill was a stew of 6 things that were only to help illegals get in and stay in.

My mistake in nomenclature...Major is the highest rank junior officer who deals directly with on-the-ground field ops....The rest are in the rear with the gear.

The rest is correct.
Still wrong. Field grade officers are only junior to General Officers. Manning various specific staff function, they write the annex of the Operation Orders submitting and approve by Battalion or higher commands, to coordinate operational demands. Company level officers write their own Op orders based on those from above and their part in the operation, and are the first line managers on the field, once the operation starts, managing their platoons to carry out their responsibilities in their sector.

I disagree. Attempts to reform in a bipartisan way have been repeatedly torpedoed by the noisy right wing fringe through campaigns largely based on disinformation.

You’re not reasonable people, but you are very loud.
HR2 has passed the House and sits in the Senate and it was Schumer and his crew that blocked the true solution to illegals getting in.

What cracks me up is how Democrats in the Senate created a massive bundle of laws, with just 1 talking of illegals and that they tell us solved the problem.

Why then did the Senate Democrats stop HR2 that was in the Senate year ahead of this Senate law that they whine so much about.

Democrats block stuff and then claim a private citizen blocked it. Amazing how they lie.

Summary

H.R. 2 would limit the ability of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to provide parole to aliens (non-U.S. nationals), which allows them to temporarily enter the United States, in part by defining the reasons for which that parole may be granted. The bill also would change how DHS treats aliens applying for asylum and unaccompanied alien children crossing the border. The bill also would change the department’s procedures for interacting with aliens seeking to enter the United States without authorization. H.R. 2 would require the Department of State to negotiate with countries in the Western Hemisphere, particularly El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico, concerning agreements related to claims for asylum.
H.R. 2 would require all employers to use E-Verify, a federal web-based system that allows public- and private-sector employers to confirm that employees are eligible to work in the United States. H.R. 2 would phase in the requirement over several years, with deadlines depending on the size of an employer’s workforce. In addition, the bill would modify existing civil and criminal penalties for hiring people without work authorization.
H.R. 2 would require DHS to resume activities related to building a wall along the southwestern border of the United States, as planned or under construction before January 20, 2021 (the date on which that project was paused), and would require DHS to construct at least 900 miles of wall and physical barriers along that border. The bill also would direct Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to hire enough border patrol agents to maintain staffing at 22,000.
In addition, the bill would require CBP to hire new polygraph examiners to test candidate agents, increase annual flight hours for manned surveillance operations, and operate unmanned aircraft systems around the clock along the southern U.S. border. The bill also would authorize appropriations for various programs within DHS, including Operation Stonegarden (a grant program), eradicating invasive vegetation along the Rio Grande, and upgrading technology at ports of entry.

Funny how you constantly bring up HR2 when you have no idea what it does to the immigration system.

Those needed can easily be included as they come in legally. Democrats are not in favor of those, they are in favor of the illegal aliens who are not educated and were farmers. They see them as easy victims.

It sure is a tough law. I have plenty of idea what it does.

Why did Democrats with 2 Republicans in the Senate bamboozle America with a gigantic mish mash of laws of which only 1 discussed immigration at all?

If the legal system worked, we wouldn’t have 10 million illegal immigrants fulfilling critical roles in the economy.

Amnesty is the only approach that makes any sense.

Reagan granted amnesty with a proviso that we stop illegals and what happened? MILLIONS more flooded in amnesty does not help

Whiny bitches gonna whine. Get ready for 48 months of this garbage from the broken libtards of USMB.

And somehow the country thrived. It’s almost as if extra labor helps the economy grow.

Look, I get deliveries by those people. Why can't they so much as speak English? They think I speak sign language? Every time I encounter illegals, my first thought is thanks, why not return through Mexico to other places who understand what you say to them?

Those showing up illegally are not the educated class. Those are the very low skilled class. Why do you want those and not the better educated who could actually benefit this nation?

The economy needs low skilled labor too.

I want both low skill and high skill immigration. I'm very pro immigration. It makes our economy stronger, especially when native birth rates are quite low.

Illegals do not help the country that are a drain on it and use up resources with no payment from the illegals.
The sure do help the country. They work millions of jobs that would be nearly impossible to staff without them.

Deport them all and we'd have a serious economic contraction. Lots of businesses would fail, and with them a lot of middle class jobs would as well. This would result in a spike in inflation.

It's a very bad idea.

You pretend the legal system is wrong. But you never explained what is wrong.
I'll be happy to, but first I asked you a question and you are not attempting to answer it.

Look, you enjoy talking about sources.

So pardon me for talking about my source.
Jesus came to the United states and was illegal. Jesus met my niece and they got married. She was a citizen and he was still an outlaw.

Jesus was lucky to get the amnesty from Reagan so he became a citizen of the USA. Of course he would go back to Mexico a lot. And spend months at times there. And as he had American citizen kids, he did not take them. He did not take his wife much either.
Jesus was also a client. I was his agent when he bought two homes. The first I sold for him to get his much better next home. He was talking to me in my office and I asked him for his view on the much after him barrage of illegals.

"Jesus, i told him, what would you do now with the illegals"?
ROUND THEM UP AND GET RID OF THEM.
Now that he was an American citizen, that was his solution. I told him he surprised me since he had been an illegal.

Bob he told me, as you know, "I am a foreman on a construction crew. I do not want to hire illegals." But firms have hired them. Just as Marener loves. They are forcing my crews to be laid off. As Marener loves so much.
