Currently, the proposal is for a stimulus check of $600 per person, including dependents. But there is no additional unemployment benefits. Mnuchin says that those checks provide more stimulus than additional unemployment. I mean the dude went to Yale. Daddy must have made a huge donation because every economist worth two shits will tell you that the additional unemployment benefit provides far more stimulus, has a much greater multiplier, than the damn stimulus checks. Take my own family as an example. I got lots of kids, and they are grown. Every single one of them still has that first stimulus check in their savings or retirement account, and so do I. If the purpose is to spur the economy, create demand, then the unemployment avenue is the one you take.
