If the alternative doesn't provide an inspirational message or policies for a future, if citizens cannot afford rent (this is the case in 90% of Canada right now), there will be a demand for change. Worse thing that can happen is all of NYC becomes poorer and starts to become one big ghetto as Big Money takes its capital somewhere else. But the system is what it is and there is nothing we really can do except hope that important stuff gets done, like closing the border, dealing with violent criminals, and the economy doesn't crash again. It is universal. The West is driven by donors and ultimately politicians can't help but profit from donors and policies in many cases as the have in fiefdoms in the East for.centuries. In Ontario we have a premier who had a $2.5B "skills training program" and they were giving money to the least qualified candidates,.simply due to the donors who were behind that location. It was just a massive.grift program and the police won't do any investigation. In a similar program $10M of taxpayer money was spent in a strip bar. $10M! No charges by police. Trudeau prevented an investigation into Chinese interference in Canandian politics. For the most part, both sides have psychos, it is all varying degrees. The bare minimum must be to work for your constituents NOT donors. In Canada.the security industrial complex are in on the action, especially in Ontario the province that will sink the nation. This is why America must hold us accountable.
