congratulations....Iowa passes Constitutional carry for guns...good job.

Didn't the 9th district just rule against this? Is this Iowa just wasting taxpayer money with fruitless laws that they will now try to defend, losing at each step?

Maine did it 6 years ago, no permits required at all, now the safest state in the Country.

You are way behind the curve of logic.

Didn't the 9th district just rule against this?

No
Hmmm....

Their decision is irrational and stupid as hell!

"The en banc Ninth Circuit last week held that the Second Amendment does not extend to open public firearm carriage. The new in Young v. State of Hawaii complements the Circuit's en banc from five years earlier, Peruta v. San Diego, which held that concealed carry is outside the Second Amendment. According to the Ninth Circuit, carrying arms in public for defense is "not within the scope of the right protected by the Second Amendment."

=====

The Second Amendment doesn't make that claim at all, this is leftist thinking of the court.

You didn't even read your own LINK, it makes a strong argument that the 9th court decision is garbage.

What does that have to do with Iowa's new law?
Is Iowa not part of the ninth circuits jurisdiction?

The 9ths ruling is garbage....but they know that the Supreme Court hasn't taken a 2nd Amendment case in a long time....because it was a 4-4 split and neither side knew how Roberts would rule.

The 9th, 4th, and other lower courts are ruled by left wing, anti-gun extremists judges, and they just make up their rulings and completely ignore the rulings of the Supreme Court.

The article is a libertarian opinion piece. That doesn't mean the ninth district didn't make a ruling.

It isn't rational, and goes against all he other actual Supreme Court rulings.....they just think the Supreme Court, under Roberts, won't bitch slap them about it.

No, but even if they were, what does that decision have to do with their new law? It's clear you have no clue regarding what that opinion is about, so I'll explain it to you real quick and easy. Parties in Hawaii and California sued to force their states to issue them carry permits. The Ninth Circuit said states couldn't be compelled under the Constitution to allow people to carry outside their home. It didn't say they can't allow it. It's very simple to understand. California and Hawaii have chosen not to allow it. Iowa has. Very cut and dry.
