WTF, is this a re-run?

Someone has to point out who Republicans are. They can't really defend their odious policies. So they just cry lie.

They say I don't believe it when what they mean is I don't WANT to believe it.

"Democrats feel stripping parents of their children, even breastfeeding babies is evil. Republicans see it as good policy."

Realize, together--as one American citizenry united--that while separating any child from their parents is tragic and inherently wrong, a choice must be made between accommodating all foreign families who throw themselves on our shores for refuge or first providing for the defense and provision of all American children and families.

Perhaps as well realization that while America has always been made strong by its cultural diversity, immigrants who do stay must assimilate to local cultures where they end up, rather than attempting to redefine or assimilate the cultural identities of those already living there for many generations.

The breast feeding debacle is about mothers who are unable to provide adequate nourishment for their infants because they themselves are malnourished. It is not about evil Republicans enriching themselves or American bullying. The UN campaign to educate (convince) third world mothers breast feeding is the best option could cost the lives of many newborns around the world

Sponsor UN programs to provide formula (step one). Step two, better agricultural training programs in poorer nations, UN sponsored food drops--anything necessary to ensure adequate production and enrichment of breast milk with sufficient nutrients to provide for infants as endgame.

"Democrats believe in helping those with pre existing conditions. Republicans don't."

While I doubt this a universal policy across either party side, it's very obvious health insurance should never come with such gateway restrictions. Compromise should be called for on both sides.

"Democrats believe in healthcare for the poor and the middle class. Republicans don't."

Again--you're painting with too broad a brush and polarizing opposites. I think all Americans should have as excellent a health care plan as possible. It's ridiculous that 242 years into the great American experiment a sold, mutually beneficial for all health care system still has not been created.

"Democrats believe in a woman's right to decide what's right for her own body. Republicans don't."

On this issue, in order to compromise, most Americans--including myself--would have to surrender fundamental moral pillars of our identity. That won't happen. Killing the unborn is always wrong. Killing the unborn to save the mother is also a very difficult issue. Compromise by agreeing we save whichever can be saved on a case by case basis. Otherwise, abortion on demand for birth control or convenience is always wrong.

"Democrats believe that billionaires and corporations making money hand over fist shouldn't be given tax breaks. Republicans feel they should."

Painting again with that broad brush. No average American I know wants to enrich the Bezos or Gates or Waltons of the world in any way other than using their services or buying their products. That being said, where does equal or proportional taxation become redistribution?

"Democrats believe in affordable education. Republicans don't."

G.I. Bill and Army College Fund recipient here. Around 1991 the combined amount for completion of a four year enlistment was around twenty-five thousand and some change. How about a mandatory two year period of service with military branch of choice or determined by ASVAB score? A benefit of such could be tuition matching or high percentage funding. Throw in other modifiers such as DLAB and fitness scores, performance during AIT, EOCT scores, etc.

"Democrats believe in school lunches for poor children and daycare so parents can work. Republicans don't."

Really? As part of any compromise, let's have a discussion about personal responsibility. The kind where government programs could be designed as very short term "ramps" to elevate people from poverty to working poor all the way up to middle class. Programs that champion parents making responsible decisions for posterity; recognizing society is not to blame for all their woes, and that in the end, only they can "save" themselves on an individual basis by working hard.

"Democrats believe in gay rights and voting rights. Republicans don't."

Again, this is a foundation of moral belief for most conservatives. However, no one I know wants to harm or otherwise gulag or deport homosexuals. Compromise: homosexuals receive equal rights save for marriage, which returns to being a sacred institution between a man and woman. Additionally, homosexuals tone down their efforts to proselytize others into their way of life. Live and let live without public displays.

"The line is drawn. Where is the compromise?"

The compromise is right here and there in each others' hearts and minds. The question should be: are we still too savage a people to stop the hate and self-dividing; stop the infighting and make compromise happen?

Politicians on all sides use innocent lives everyday. We American people are currency. To change that we'd have to change the entire political machine; break it and then re-engineer it. Being one of three hundred million of anything is a really bad thing--because someone somewhere is going to think he can afford to lose a few million here or there and still achieve something.

"Republicans didn't even use that for bargaining. They just made it a "choice". Either you help these people or these people."

Sadly, and while I personally would love to save everyone everywhere, leaders must always "choose" who takes point and who gets slack. But I agree, let's find a way to at least improve every American life beginning with taking responsibility for our own.

"So where do you compromise? With people so willing to hurt others?"

That's what life is or so it seems: people hurting each other for profit. There are more than three hundred million of us sharing this great country. Leaders will harm some to help others; ignore a few to pinpoint a few others. This is where personal responsibility really kicks in: working hard to take care of and protect self and family and their future, rather than relying on government to do it for you. Good sense of responsibility and solid, small government are key. Massive socialist apparatuses only serve to make people dependent on big government and in the end become meat grinders. ​

Sad all right. That your kind will cloak such nastiness with this "we know it's sad but it has to be done" rhetoric.

And to me, it's so outrageously hypocritical that right winger who claim to care for the fetus are fine with fuk kids poliies. The worst being to arm crazies who go into to schools and churches to shoot up the born.

Republicans live in a world where they believe they have the right to tell everyone else how to live and what's right and what's wrong. And what is weird about that is that Republicans have to be the most morally bankrupt people in the world. Their entire world view involves bullying.

It was a socialist Democrat that tried to murder multiple GOP members. You have no moral high ground. Your policies lead to death and destruction.

Oh, come on. Republicans dream of the day they could murder the gays. Look at their religious leaders.

Then you have all those right wing pastors who preach kill the gays. In fact, I don't think there isn't one who doesn't have a kill the gays sermon on Youtube.

The Clintons don't need $150 million in personal wealth, why haven't they given $140 million to charity?

Trump has $10,000 million in personal wealth, why hasn't he given $9990 million to charity?

Especially if he believes in abolishing any government assistance to the poor?

The only way for that to happen is if the Trumps and the Clintons, and the likes of them, do that....

and since they, and most all of the wealthy, do NOT do that, is WHY we even have our government, step in to help.

I don't remember the Clintons advocating tax cuts for billionaires and corporations.

In fact, I remember when Trump was running he said he would raise taxes on the wealthy. Guess that was a lie.

Feel free to write a check for any benefit you got from that tax cut. I'm sure the IRS will accept it.

When pigs fly that will happen, a liberal leading by example paying more voluntarily. Do liberals REALLY want to pay higher taxes? Hell no, they outed themselves when they squealed like stuck pigs over the SALT caps in high tax blue states.
