The Amazon voting they are talking about is for the union election in Alabama, not a shareholder vote. Shareholder votes are actually quite secure, much more so than voting-by-mail civil elections. Its all very legit, if they made regular elections like that, it would be a lot more trustworthy.

BTW, I don't think there is going to be a proxy fight for AMZN as Bezos owns such a large bloc of shares.

I used to own a chunk of Walmart and voted. Yah, I know, the Walmart Kids owned the lions share so my vote didn't mean a whole lot of anything. And it was done by mail. Even Amazon must have an election for it's voting members even if Bezos owns the lions share. And you can bet that would be done by mail as well.
