Yeah, Vernon Stouffer (founder of Stouffer frozen foods) sold his company to Litton Industries which was really big at the start of the microwave oven industry. Unfortunately Stouffer had taken his payment in Litton stock which soon afterwards crashed and the Tribe became a burden he couldn't afford. Nick Mileti bought the team to keep it in Cleveland.
Before that, during the mid-1960s, there was often talk about the Indians moving to Seattle. It stopped when Seattle was granted a franchise, the Pilots, which only lasted a season before shuffling off to Milwaukee.
