Sen. Corker to hold hearing on president's nuclear weapons authority.

Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) announced Wednesday the Senate Foreign Relations Committee would hold a hearing next week on “the executive’s authority to use nuclear weapons.”

“A number of members both on and off our committee have raised questions about the authorities of the legislative and executive branches with respect to
war making, the use of nuclear weapons, and conducting foreign policy overall,” Corker said in a statement announcing the Nov. 14 hearing.

“This continues a series of hearings to examine these issues and will be the first time since 1976 that this committee or our House counterparts have looked specifically at the authority and process for using U.S. nuclear weapons,” he continued. “This discussion is long overdue, and we look forward to examining this critical issue.”

Corker is an idiot never-Trumper. He got miffed when Trump didn't give him a cabinet position. Then he fought hard to keep Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae in receivership and was happy to have their profits stolen from the taxpayers and used to prop up Obama’s lousy health care scam.

Corker also along with his Democrat colleague, Sen. Mark Warner, promoted the so-called “GSE reform” that would allow big banks such as Wells Fargo to take over the nation’s mortgage markets and reap billions in profits.

There have been several other instances where he got snitty with Trump, but I won't relate them here. The only reason he's doing this is because his own selfish personal ambitions keep getting blocked at every turn. So being the never-Trumper and Democrat collusionist he is, Corker keeps seeking to assuage his own failures with cheap, cowardly attacks against Trump.

He can be an asshole if he want but if the shit hits the fan and it comes down to the point that we need to use nukes, the military, Congress, and the American people will stand behind Trump.
