Chuck Norris is insane

Here are the Nine princples that these folks claim to stand for.

The Nine Principles

1. America is good.

2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.

3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.

4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.

5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.

6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.

7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.

8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.

9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.

In principle, I can sign on to some of them.

Some of them (especially given the lack of explaination for what that REALLY means) are just so much feel-good hot air, in my opinion.

I don't doubt, however, that a lot of decent Americans will read the above, interpret those principles based on what THEY BELIEVE THEY MEAN, and join up.

Now I'd be much much more impressed has the authors of this tripe said EXACTLY what they mean instead of couching their views behind a veil of pleasant sounding (but essantially content free) words.

Facially, they seem fairly clear, which ones are you having trouble with?

You missed his little take on what he wants them to mean so he will feel better ignoring them.

I may run for president of Texas

This guy is bonkers.

I have a friend that trained with him years ago ( I do mean they were Both students at the same time) and he says Chuck is a huge egomaniac.

so was Bruce Lee .....so what?

Let's look at the facts here. TruthDOESNTmatter quotes an article that misquotes Norris, takes his words out of context and/or presents assumptions and hypotheticals as fact, while linking to what Norris ACTUALLY said.

She then proceeds to substantiate her thread title with "I had a friend that trained with him years ago."

:cuckoo:

always love the "i have a friend who......"

We ALL long for a world where all the bad guys wear black hats and all the good guys are cops.

Sadly, and I don't how to break this to you guys who admire Chuck, that's not the world we live in and even if Chuch Norris were made KING, that's not the world he could make our of what we've got either.

Human nature folks.

It has an ugly side, too.

We all understand that humans never can measure up to ideals. Ideals are normative things to be striven for. If you become satisfied with being lost in the 'shades of gray,' content with whatever the status quo is.....then the likelihood of improvement dissipates.

I don't think we are searching for a way to explain what we see. We are search for a way to improve where we are.

If we don't actually KNOW what we're seeing (for example if you think giving money to the richest people on earth is a form of socialism) then searching for a way to improve our lot is going to be one hell of a lot more difficult, though, don't you think?

I can't sign onto a team that thinks what is happening is socialism, because if they don't know that socialism is, how can I know if they know what anything means?

I sign onto their team, for example, and they tell me they want one thing, only in thier universe the world they're using means something completely unexpected.

You're lawyer for criminies sakes, Tech, how can you dismiss the importance of words in problem solving tasks?

I mean, I expect you, of all people,(one of the annointed priests of our social sciences) to understand the difference between socialism and this whole fraud we're involved in.

Ed,

The simplest way I can explain this is that it's like a magic trick. When the magician wants to do the trick he distracts you with other movement that is purely ancillary. That's what you are talking about with the "giving money to the richest people" stuff. You are caught up in the minutia.

You need to lift your eyes a few levels and see the grand strategy to what Obama is doing. This is about control. It's about moving control from the people to the central government. What the economic form ends up being when Obama is done, is less important to me than the fact that he is shifting control from where it belongs in this country to a few Ivy League Elitists who think we're all mouth breathers and not capable of caring for ourselves.

As I've explained before, my poli sci professor (or one of them) explained the political spectrum as a clock rather than as a left-right continuum. That explanation put the Soviets at about 11:59 on the clock and Hitler at about 12:01. But my point here is that if you are living in a society that is past 9:00 or before 3:00, life probably sucks for you. Does it really matter what the economic policies are in such a society? I don't think so.

So, to answer your question, I think socialism is being used as shorthand. We know Obama's politics are from the left, so we "assume" the direction is left. But the concern is the utter disregard for Constitutional limits. We're blowing past them so quickly we can't even identify them before they're gone. Like what? Like the government taking over private companies. That is not an option under the Constitution. End of story.

it's hilarious as fuck that right wingers will flock to defend chuck norris... but will not hesitate to talk shit on liberal holywood actors who take up left leaning issues..

truly hilarious.

SOMEHOW Sean Penn is a fucking loon who should keep his goddamn lefty mouth shut.... but when CHUCK NORRIS issues a manifesto...

My bad. I thought we were supposed to comment on the content of what he said. I didn't know were were limited to evaluating the person who said it.

In that case, I don't give a rat's ass what Chuck Norris says. He's a clown, just like all the other entertainers. They are paid to entertain us, that's all.

However, since he did talk and I was "forced" to look at it. I stand by my previous statements concerning the content.

by all means. AND, if you are one of those who manage to feel the same way when it's a liberal like Jane Fonda giving out the content of her words then kudos to you.

But, it's always easier to listen to the content when they agree with your political philosophy, isnt it?

If you would like me to comment on what Hanoi Jane says, I'd be more than happy to. Like I said, I consider them all a bunch of clowns, as a class. For some reason we value our entertainment so much that these idiots get to make a ton of money. Then they start to think that their opinions matter more than the next idiot you pass on the street.

Fact is, most of them are dumb as post as far as I've been able to discern. There are a few exceptions, but not many. (My exceptions are not politically based by the way.)

The fact remains that those who often insist that hanoi jane simply shut the fuck up will line up and defend Chuck's input as if it were mana from heaven. At the end of the day, if Chuck's input is valid then so is every opinion of every other entertainer whose thrown in their 2 cents... despite the usual right winger reaction to left leaning entertainers. Again, if YOU can validate their input, disagree or not, despite their vocation then good for you. But, the people posting in this thread are hardly cut from the same cloth and it's hilarious as fuck to watch them dance around Chuck Norris as if his manifesto means shit in the greater spectrum of politics.

gee Sho....could it be cause one is talking about defending the country and the other was just a tad treasonous.....most actors who open up their holes to talk, show us how stupid they are.....in Fondas case....she should have been barred from coming back to the US.....you could have picked a better lib to compare to a guy who not only served the country, but defends it.....Fonda would never defend the place that gives her a dam nice lifestyle....

PERSPECTIVE is a bitch, dude. Your opinion about what is treasonous is about as universal as mobile chem weapons labs were tangible.

and no, I picked exactly the correct lib to use because, if you notice, YOU would rather ban her from the fucking US than grant her the exact same consideration that you people expect to be given to Chuck NOrris. Which, as I predicted, illustrates the double standard quite well.

and I assure you, "defending" the US doesn't make an opinion any more important than the opinion of an American who didn't join the military. That, sir, is a fact of the fucking matter.

fonda didn't agree with the vietnam war. Do you think she was the first person, or the last, to feel that way about a bullshit war? I mean, i've already mentioned the bogus mobile chem labs.. Shall I really launch, so to speak, into the phantom WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION? No? Then stop looking for an excuse to be a fucking hypocrite.
