Before I was a regenerate Christian, Christmas was a time of year I actually reflected on God and Jesus. Since I have been regenerate, I enjoy Christmas less, because the best part of Christmas is what I carry in my heart every day, but with less stress and expectations.

A few things:

1. Some people, including Christians, are natural extroverts who LOVE Christmas. And I love that for them. In no way am I saying that if you are a born-again Christian you shouldn't love Christmas. GO YOU!

2. I know these posts come off as "holier than thou" to non-believers. It's not that. I could have never brought myself to a place where my favorite book is the Bible and I carry Christmas in my heart every day. Only God did that. This is the basis of the Christian faith. We are unable, but He is able.

Hoping, praying and wishing every member here comes a little closer to the Baby in the manger this Christmas. It's the only part of Christmas that lasts!

Amen. God is able.

That's so true. Christmas brings believers much closer to God and His goodness and righteousness. It's different for the single people v. those who have small kids. They need to celebrate it in a different way because the kids should be happy and get something special on that day. Just as we have Mother's Day and Father's Day; Christmas is children's day.

Let us take this time of year to pray; to come into agreement with God on behalf of others. There are a lot of very sad people this time of year who have lost loved ones including others who have actually passed during this holiday season. We want to pray and strengthen them.

Sweetsue, you are right, This holiday means so many different things for each person as God is working on us and through us for so many different reasons in connection with the plans he has for our lives. Let us be encouraged, and give thanks always to God.

Good for you I guess but to me the Christmas season is just something to be tolerated till it's over.....Too many dead or dispersed relatives.

I still like Thanksgiving though. :)

I prefer Thanksgiving as a holiday MUCH more than Christmas, to be honest. I don't hate Christmas as a holiday, but certainly don't love it. It's tolerable.

As an aside how much time do you get off as a teacher for Christmas?

They are taking two weeks off in my AO.....It's like they never heard tell of the coming snow days they will likely have.

I guess it does not matter much anymore due to all the schools having A/C, they could have classes into late Spring these days.

that's fine for that religion they simply do not reflect the events of the 1st century.

jesus taught all are equal in the heavens as a basis for the 1st century events, admission to the everlasting is having accomplished the heavenly goal to triumph over evil as those already present.

there is no worshiping either on earth or in the heavens ... is why the holidays are important for paradisians as jesus for everyone to enjoy.

I just wished so called Christian or self proclaimed Christian would reflect what is in the bible

I think Christian parents need to stress to their children that we have two distinct holidays on December 25th: the Nativity of Christ, and the secular Christmas holiday. Each should be celebrated and neither forgotten. Going to church on either Christmas Eve or Christmas is imperative for children (and adults).

That might be one of the best descriptions of Christianity I have yet read, Sue. And perhaps one of the best indictments of the Bible, that Christmas lives in your heart always, so much so that you just cannot help but share it with others because it is more than you can contain within yourself.

And more subtly, a more fine point on the difference between believers and non-believers, that isn't so much a difference between science and mere superstition, but a difference between those who have experienced that inner light vs. those who simply have not yet experienced it.

Many people do not know that we are salaried for whatever days we work. We don't get holiday time "off"; we essentially are paid throughout the year for the days we work. This is usually somewhere between 180-195 days per year.

Christmas every day would suck

It would be like having Ice Cream every day, it is no longer a treat

when they reflect the Bible they get called holier than thou

nevertheless we believers are supposed to take the hits and be strong for the Lord

I think that it's good to keep the Christmas spirit all year round. 😊
